ddaryl
he's toast..... stick a fork in him. Even if he does make it back to the field in a short time how long will he last. We cannot depend on him

It could be exactly what it looks like, but I don’t want to jump to conclusions.

I actually think RT is the least important spot on the OL for Allen. He has full visibility if a DE is coming at him from that side and as we all know he has a preternatural ability to escape rushers that he sees in time. RT is not really a concern at all IMO. If we need Brandon Shell to step in and be a replacement level player he can do that. I'm more concerned about Dawkins reportedly not looking so good at camp, and then we'll see with McGovern and Bates/Torrence.

Florida Bills Fanatic
Until we hear an official report that details his injury, I'm not ready to panic over this. Something as simple as a pulled muscle would make it very painful to bend to pick up a helmet. The Bills do have some decent options as others have pointed out. I always find it humorous when the "sky is falling crowd" wants to shuffle two or three positions to fill an injury opening or find some yet to be identified free agent. The Bills brought in some new guys this year to improve the depth, flexibility, and talent. Flexibility will allow the team to play the best five linemen (hopefully making the best unit).

The Bills have also used an extra OL as a TE. Bobby Hart actually did well at this role last season! The problem with your "start turning over rocks" notion, is that there aren't a lot of players hiding under them right now. Most are on rosters. There will be players available after 53 man roster cutdown, but in contrast to prior years this won't take place until just before the season - there will not be intermediate cutdowns. I'm sure Beane and his team are keeping their eyes pealed around the league to see if they can sniff out training camp battles that could leave a better RT than Brandon Shell in the cutout bin. I dont want Knox to be "forced" to become a blocker because of a gaping hole at RT. Knox has too much value as a pass catcher and red zone target. And that defeats the point of running 12 personnel if he likely is blocking(as compared to chip blocking " Gotta sort this matter out asap 1 hour ago, SoMAn said: With 12 personnel they still use 5 linemen. TE doesn’t take the place of an OT. Unless he is asked/optioned to stay back and block 52 minutes ago, Augie said: I totally agree, but my feeling is we shouldn’t get too high or too low. As much as Beane has talked him up ! We have good reason to be concerned, and a but critical even

There's no need for that if the injury is severe, they'd just hold him out of practice.

I’ll play spoiler, Q-berry blew his protection from the right side. Every position on the OL is important because they protect the only irreplaceable player on the team.

Time to find a trading partner Because some team is going to be lining up to trade for a guy who literally by himself dropped the Bills from a top 10 NFL lines in metrics to 26th, and has a bad back on top of that? Where do people come up with this kind of stuff? 1

BuffaloBillsGospel2014
He was a question mark even before this injury, I was worried that they didn't do any sort of upgrade at all at RT and now it could really come back to haunt them. Lets hope we can get a solid replacement in there this late.
