JohnNord Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I really like this move for Buffalo. I became aware of Sternberger in the USFL because he was having such a great year. IMO it’s worth trying him out. Who knows if they sign him, he may have a shot to compete at TE with Quinton Morris who hasn’t shown to be a great blocker 8 Quote
Simon Says Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 If they really intend to run more "12" it makes sense to improve TE depth. And if Kincaid does play mostly as a slot receiver, even more so. Quote
Dan in Owego Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Would love for the USFL to really take off, firstly for entertainment, and secondly to create a place where marginal talents can marinate a little more. 5 3 Quote
newcam2012 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Another camp body to push Morris. Can't hate that. 3 1 Quote
Dave_Bills Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Liked him coming out of college. Believe he was drafted ahead of Knox 1 1 Quote
NewEra Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Nice. I liked his college tape. Good camp body 3 1 Quote

That was my first impression but I wouldn’t be shocked to see him beat out Morris. Morris did some good things as a receiver at TE but he was a terrible blocker. I wouldn’t put money on it but I think Jace has a chance 1 1 Quote
DCofNC Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) At least they know the TE depth is atrocious (if you consider Kincaid a big slot). There’s not a real TE on the roster aside from Knox. Edited July 24, 2023 by DCofNC 2 Quote

PetermansRedemption Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I liked him in his draft year. Can’t complain about getting a free look. 1 Quote
That's No Moon Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Had concussions as a rookie and landed a substance abuse suspension after falling asleep behind the wheel after drinking while on anti-depressants. Wouldn't be shocked if the concussions and anti-depressants were connected. If he's gotten healthy he could be a contributor. 3 Quote
JohnBonhamRocks Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 All you can ask for out of a signing at this time is to have high upside and he does. Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 The trio that made the Stallions back to back champs was QB McGough, WR Cain and TE Sternberger. Quote

78thealltimegreat Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Obviously competing with Quentin Morris for TE3…All American at Texas A&M but injuries did a number on him. Reemerged in the USFL and looked absolutely fantastic. Definitely worth try. 2 Quote
GunnerBill Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 He was in the good TE class of 2019, from which the Bills drafted Dawson Knox. From memory I think they had Sternberger in for a pre-draft visit that spring. They looked hard at that group and were determined to draft one. They took a flier on Kahale Warring a couple of years ago on the practice squad as well. He was the same, came out of that class, went in the 3rd, flamed out in Houston. So I suspect this is another guy who has been on their radar a while. 1 3 Quote
HOUSE Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) I am buying 5 rookie cards, 10 years from now I will be rich. https://www.football-rookies.com/jace-sternberger-97327/ Edited July 24, 2023 by HOUSE 1 Quote
John from Riverside Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I wonder if they might consider him as a practice squad stash especially if we plan on running more 12 personnel this year 1 Quote
