Gregg Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Gerry Dulac on Twitter: "Steelers have agreed to a new five-year, $70.743 million contract with OLB Alex Highsmith that includes approximately $27.7 million in guaranteed money, per sources. Highsmith was entering the final year of his rookie contract and was scheduled to earn $2.743 million in 2023." / Twitter Quote
WhoTom Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Damn - we coulda had him if we weren't so focused on offense. 😉 2 Quote
MasterStrategist Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Steelers know how to draft pass rushers and WRs. Some ppl here really liked Highsmith, who didn't think Epenesa would make it to round 2. Round 3 pick by Steelers, great value for them. If their drafted corners pan out this year, they could be a surprise team to challenge for a wildcard. I'm a big Beane fan, but it's his misses on DL (Oliver good player, but better were available/ Epenesa / Basham /FA ) that have held this team back from overtaking KC and Cincy past couple years. 2 1 Quote
3rdand12 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 They kept an excellent player, and he is motivated. Never sleep on Tomlin 1 1 Quote

Utah John Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 There's no big news here. He's turned into a really good player, and the Steelers resigned him to a fair contract. 1 Quote
