I don’t know any of the facts leading to this parting of the ways, but I would bet the house that this was “not the plan all along” as a few have suggested.

Yeah, I’m wondering if there was an “office culture issue”.

Ron wouldn’t stop asking people if they had a “case of the Mondays”.

On the plus side the Sabres look like much brighter days are ahead starting this season.

Says every fan the last 3 years 🤪

It feels like it’s been 20 years since the Sabres made the playoffs

Idk why everyone’s concerned?? He did what he was hired to do and that was to help get the new stadium deal past the finish line, which he did. And I’m sure he was aware that after the deal was done and the shovels hit the ground that they would be parting company. I always saw Ron as temp for Kim.

Because everything here is viewed in the most negative light by a good percentage of posters. And if you're not of that opinion, well you're just an apologist for a directionless organization or some kind of pollyanna.

Or you know, some dude just switched jobs... ;)

I don't know the details of what he did before this and I don't know what he'll do after this and I don't know why or if he wanted to leave and I don't know why or if the Bills wanted him to leave but damn if I'm not going to get angry about it

No wonder you always struck everyone in the Bills organization and fandom as an insufferable prick.

Exactly, too many people on this board trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, if you can even call something like this a molehill lol 😂

…and you know this how?   I don’t recall anyone in the media reporting this either before or after the fact.

Does it affect the product on the field? Does it affect the stadium? Does it affect the future of the Bills in Buffalo? If not, who cares?

I’m sure stuff like that wouldn’t be announced to the media. That kind of stuff is kept in doors, Just like Kim’s illness wasn’t reported to the media until her daughter came out and talked about it personally from her end.

Some people are honesty either nosy or they’re looking hard for something to B word and complain about.

The departure of Ron Raccuia, the public face of the new stadium, took a lot of people by surprise - including Ron himself.

Tim Graham spoke with 11 sources within PSE who said that Terry personally fired Raccuia for a number of reasons.  He was said to be “obnoxious” and “arrogant” in his business dealing and reportedly turned off NY Gov. Kathy Hochul during negotiations.

It seems that Terry simply was not as fond of Ron as Kim had been.  After Kim was out of the building due to her health, Ron assumed her responsibilities, and Terry was not pleased with hid communication and other things.

Graham also mentioned that PSE is on the hook for overages, and it appears the new stadium could cost nearly 500,000M more than the original estimate Raccuia put together.   Again, something he might have not been happy with.

According Graham’s sources this was NOT Raccuia’s decision.  He had planned to retire to California in 2026 after the new stadium was finished.  He allegedly felt “blindsided” by the firing.

Also the sale of ADPRO to Legends was said to not be related to this move.

I would read the full article for more details:

I think there are questions to be raised with PSE.  This move kind of reminds me of what happened with the Sabres.  Rather than hiring people from outside to fill departures they just promote and shuffle around the staff they already have.  Terry has assumed mote responsibility since the firing.

This is the exact quote from the article.  It also listed that Raccuia was “unapologetically aggressive” in his business dealings:

Three people with direct knowledge of the Bills’ stadium negotiations said Hochul grew to despise Raccuia’s tactics and said she contemplated requesting his absence from meetings. One of those sources quoted Hochul as calling Raccuia’s methods “arrogant” and “obnoxious.” Hochul’s press office didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Athletic regarding this story.
