Lots of articles on Bills potentially bringing back res helmets as throwbacks and there certainly are marketing reasons to do it - the most important reason for Bills these days.

wouldn't a different color jersey help a QB over a helmet?

I'm not that old and I can remember those titles. 

 

I just don't get wanting to bring back a look that is tied to a not-so-happy period for the team. What I can recall from the 90's Super Bowl era Bills that isn't different from now is how fans were unhappy about not winning it all. You never fully appreciate what you have until it's gone.

It's been done, for 1 game in '94 against the Broncos.  Hideous.

Yeah they were great except for the lifeless grazer on the helmet.   The charging buffalo has been an iconic logo for almost 50 years now as opposed to 15 for the sad carcass that was the grazer look.   People who want to throwback the grazer need to remember why it got thrown out in the first place.   It couldn't talk proud.  It was bad.

I worked with the designer who designed this uniform, and when he asked for my honest feedback, I told him I did not like them at all. I also sent him a screen shot of TBD discussion which I don't think he appreciated because everyone was trashing it.

I think you misspelled Iconic.

 

73 was the last season for the iconic uni:

In 74 we went to the charging buffalo but still had the old school stripe pattern for the sleeves (which I love BTW)

 

In 75, they went to the Cowboys double-stripe

The grazer is not iconic in either sense of the word.    The charging Buffalo is far more famous AND was what was worn during the greatest years of the franchise.    10 playoff trips, 4 SB appearances and 5 AFCCG appearances in 12 years in the NFL,  not some minor league.
