The policy changed because the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade it's as simple as that. So what happens after that a bunch of states pass a bunch of new laws restricting abortion. But in the military you have to live where you're told so they had to make a policy change so as to prevent the choice being taken from military women who can't chose where they live. Not on where to live, if the Supreme Court decided it's a State by State issue why the hell should the Federal Government make life harder for service women, by not giving them paid leave because they happen to be assigned to a State with laws that don't allow abortion when if they were in a different State it wouldn't be an issue at all?
