Not surprising.

Priorities demonstrated.

A long-standing tradition that enables one senator to stop a 'unanimous consent' action by the Senate could soon be coming to an end.

They don't want to end it, but abortion defense is more important

SENATE DEMS MOVE TO KILL TUBERVILLE DOD HOLDS:

Senate Rules Committee Democrats unanimously voted to adopt a temporary procedural change that allows them to circumvent holds on President Joe Biden’s Pentagon nominees by Sen. Tommy Turbeville (R-Ala.).

Tuberville first put the holds on the nominations of generals and admirals for promotions in February after Biden’s Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin issued a directive that the Pentagon would use federal tax dollars to pay the travel expenses of women in the U.S. military service who have to cross state lines to get abortions.

Democrats on the Senate Rules Committee, led by Chair Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, adopted a procedural change during a Nov. 14 business meeting designed to enable senators to circumvent a hold placed nine months ago by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) on hundreds of President Joe Biden's military and civilian employees in the Department of Defense (DOD).

My brother went to school with the new Chief of Naval Operations.  He actually still keeps in touch with her and congratulated her.

Another great JFR take.

Even if you think he is wrong for his actions to oppose the Defense dpt's illegal abortion funding, why can't you just say that ?

He has to be an evil, selfish man for you to justify your awful replies in this thread.

Having said that, they are still better than well-known simpletons who have also posted here.

Oh honey. If you think the GOP actually wants to solve the border issue, I have a golf course in Scotland to sell you.

When did conservative voters become such easy marks?

Honestly, I think it’s much earlier.

The rise of right wing talk radio and then Fox News allowed conservatives to envelope themselves in a comfortable cushion of being told that they are right and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

From there, it’s a small jump to teach people to derive their facts from their conclusions instead of the opposite.

You go from denying climate change because oil companies are buying right wing influencers to thinking that Paul Pelosi had a secret gay lover because the obvious explanation of his assault didn’t make liberals look bad.
