Maybe if mass incarceration was stopped, there would be more 2 parent households.  65% of the prison population in the US is black.  Chicken or egg?

Dude I already told you, it’s the lack of two chickens raising the egg.

Do you honestly think it’s hard to stay out of prison?

Yes, if you are black and especially if you are from certain geographic areas.

"The United States incarcerates its people at the highest rate in the world (Walmsley 2018). Perhaps the most notable feature of the criminal justice system in the United States is the disproportionate impact that it has on Black individuals and families (Tonry 1995; Western and Wildeman 2009; National Research Council 2014). For instance, in 2017, the adult impris- onment rate was nearly six times higher for Blacks than it was for Whites (Bronson and Carson 2019)."

for example, blacks (being disproportionally poor in comparison to other US races) are disproportionally incarcerated in modern day debtors prison:

"Nearly two centuries ago, the United States formally abolished the incarceration of people who failed to pay off debts. Yet, recent years have witnessed the rise of modern-day debtors' prisons—the arrest and jailing of poor people for failure to pay legal debts they can never hope to afford, through criminal justice procedures that violate their most basic rights."  From the ACLU...being poor can put someone in jail.

ok let see UK homicide rates..  which should be a proxy for criminality. Now what?

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1214177/homicide-rates-in-england-and-wales-by-ethnicity/

Again, white families with single parents hh, higher crime rate, Asian, same, Latino same.

family culture matters. It’s a simple fact virtually every human religion on the planet concluded when they couldn’t even agree on the god.

never said it didn't.  I'm highlighting some underlying issues.
Are you arguing that black ethnicity is genetically predisposed to crime?  Or that black single parent families are more common because of some physical/psychological flaw?  Or could it be that socioeconomic status is a major contributor?  To investigate, one would need ethnic as well as socioeconomic crime data.  Nice little research project...

none of those things. It’s cultural. Do some digging around Nigerian Americans. They have Asian like culture in terms of academics and family and outperform almost all demographics.

It undermines the racism narrative.

Building social incentives to have kids out of marriage as opposed to the opposite is the smoking gun.

glad to hear it.  But why are people willing to have more children just to get a relatively small financial benefit.  I suggest this is largely due to poverty.  Is the poverty sometimes self inflicted?  Yes.  But pay disparities for people doing the same job (same for females vs males) is an issue and there are others.

for example

The only reason why it's not going to come back is because American's have become lazy & feel they are entitled to everything the is a huge reason why a lot of people want a influx of Mexican people because they are now what Americans use to be hard workers .

Today's youngsters think a hard days work is sitting behind a computer and doing what ever that requires & most schools have done away with any skilled trades which was a big part of education 50+ yrs ago now you can't get a kid to mow the lawn .

Add to that parents don't enforce any kind of consequences for wrong doing or laziness & welcome to the woke movement a bunch of spoiled ass over sensitive entitled brats that want everything given to them on a silver platter ! Instead of going out & earning a living by being motivated enough having more than 1 job they cry to raise the minimum wage it's a give me give me generation .

I'd be willing to bet at my age in the 60's i could probably out work many teenagers & 20 somethings because politicians have created a population of entitled individuals all standing with their hands out & voting for the one that will give them the most that's why when the debt ceiling vote came up & there were those that said that people getting gov't assistance needed to work for it the Dems & Libs baulked at the idea which is something that should have been happening all along .

But now they all sit around and buy chinese & let them own the US in most every way ... Trump was trying to bring some of the trade back by leveling the playing field but the entitled brats just B**CHED over any attempt he made because they would rather be lazy & entitled ...

I don't want "a[n] influx of Mexican people" unless they're here legally.  I also don't believe in demonizing someone because they don't look like me.  And, I respect more than I can relate the work ethic of someone who comes here--legally or illegally--, frequently learns a new language, and works harder than I've ever worked to make a better life for himself or herself and their families. It's inspiring. And, frankly, it's American.

I don't disagree with your view of today's twenty somethings as generally spoiled and lazy.  Not all are that way.  But many are.

I'd add MAGA slobs to that list though, too.  All of these biggins who ate and drank to excess and thought they worked hard their entire lives but now whine about socialism and the absence of a raise in their social security in the same breath (while they struggled with COPD and diabetes treated by Medicare) are just as bad as the "woke" you describe.  Yes, driving truck and picking up my trash, for example, is hard work and it should be treated with dignity and respect.  But simply because someone like me doesn't do it doesn't mean that I don't work hard or that I don't deserve to enjoy the fruits of my labor.  I did a lot of stuff that those fat lazy slobs didn't feel like doing, and their crappy lot in life is their problem.  Not mine, not some faceless Mexican, not some wet-behind-the-ears social media whiner.  It's on them.  So they're just as bad as the people about whom they complain.
