Well if you guys want EVs to be viable you should start working on infrastructure for them, instead of just arbitrarily forcing GM and Ford to try to produce millions of them in the next 3 years.

The technology isn't ready for prime time yet. And where are we gonna get all this electricity from to charge them en masse.

And it just leads me to the point of how short sighted the left is. Your last couple of posts have really shown that.

This is true - we do need to focus on the power grid.

But ... what exactly does this have to do with rising gas and food prices on account of Biden's energy policies? That was what I thought we were talking about, not the national power grid in 2030 ...

It's a major factor in the Biden administrations relations, or lack of, with Saudi's. Adding to our energy woes, depleting our strategic oil reserves, and harming our economy.

It's the administrations policies.

Liberal idealism, is great when you're in your 20's, but there comes a time when you have to grow up and be a man. And sometimes the best decisions are not always the most popular decisions.

I'm sorry, this makes zero sense.

Our relations with Saudi Arabia are fine. We sell them lots of military hardware, they sell oil to the world, they largely control OPEC and reduce production when crude prices are low and raise production when crude prices are high. And they are not functioning any differently in the market now than they were under Trump or under Obama or under Bush 43 or under Clinton.

Where are you getting this notion of our "lack of relations" with the Saudis? You don't remember the famous Biden fist bump with the Saudi dictator?

And the Saudis know which side their bread is buttered on. With rival Iran taking provocative acts again, guess who they'll be cozying up to again.

I think you just made this up. It's a weird agglomeration of righty echo chamber memes: Biden energy policy bad. Trump managed Saudi relations better. Inflation is up. Somehow - you don't explain how, since there is no explanation - that means that Biden's perceived lack of Saudi ass kissing is hurting America. O.K.

Politics in a nutshell.

The Saudi’s chop up a journalist and (some) people are enraged that instantaneous and significant  penalties do not ensue.  We are lost, they say.

5 minutes later, the new guy comes in, reassures the Saudi’s of our good standing as besties, punctuates it with a robust fisting, and all is well.  All is well, they say.

Status of journalist…still dead.

Remember when Biden went there a couple months ago, what a warm reception he received....

Of you're gonna stand your ground on the "whaa are you talkin about" tactic, then we are done here

OK, explain this:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/12/business/energy-environment/opec-russia-saudi-arabia-oil-coronavirus.html

HOUSTON — Oil-producing nations on Sunday agreed to the largest production cut ever negotiated, in an unprecedented coordinated effort by Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States to stabilize oil prices and, indirectly, global financial markets.

Saudi Arabia and Russia typically take the lead in setting global production goals. But President Trump, facing a re-election campaign, a plunging economy and American oil companies struggling with collapsing prices, took the unusual step of getting involved after the two countries entered a price war a month ago. Mr. Trump had made an agreement a key priority.

Get that? The TRUMP ADMINISTRATION urged OPEC to cut production. In April 2020.

In other words, the Trump Administration policy after COVID broke was to stabilize or RAISE CRUDE OIL PRICES.

It's hard to argue with someone with a fixed/wrong idea about how the way the world works.

If "amazing" means "the strongest economy in the world today," well, I guess I do win.

Haha.

But really ... if all other developed world economies are trailing the USA (including those with conservative governments like the UK), how likely is it that Biden is dragging the USA down?

I really wish that people would understand the way that this the sale of oil works within the United States

Those companies that drill for oil in the US do not sell within the US they take their product and they dump it on the open market
