Disagree. His rookie year he was splendid. Had a couple of solid years in years 2 and 3. Was really good again the next two years and played very well his first year for the Saints. All in all after his first 5 years in Buffalo he was near the top of his position NFL wide.

Not really that he didn't live up to it in New Orleans talent wise but he legitimately had a foot issue that slowed him big time.

I'm talking about Cordy Glenn, who was the topic of the post I quoted.

Anyone know if the Byrd year was 2009 or 2012? Going off my memory I recall his 2012 season being a great year. I suspect that is the season he graded highest. Not his 9 interception rookie season.

I believe this is 2012 pro bowl season, the last season he was here before he signed the big deal with the Saints.

Jairus Byrd's Buffalo Bills career was bolstered by being in the wrong place at the right time.  Doesn't belong in the top 50.

Exactly.

That rookie year was uncanny.   I remember plays where Byrd seemed lost.  But then the ball would be deflected right to him.  9 picks his freshman year in the NFL and averaged 2/year for the rest of his career.  I actually thought his skills got better in this 2nd and 3rd years.  But his luck got worse.

I forgot Cordy Glenn even existed. Good player in his day though. And people forget how good Byrd was early in his playing days. Shame he fell off due to (I believe) the foot issue.

His most significant contribution was being traded to get us another 1st round pick to get JA

He had one or two good years. We seemed to have a lot of players like that in the drought era. Guys who would play really well for a bit and get us excited, but not live up to it later after we pay them.

Cordy Glenn was underrated. He was very good for the Bills pre-diagnosis with Chrones.

His last season was actually an injury shortened season in 2013. I believe 2012 was his overall best season going off memory.

Oh yeah, that’s right. Didn’t he play on the franchise tag for us that season?

This is an impressive list.

Jarius Byrd was wildly overated, he was the lucky recipient of many bad QB throws, notbaly mark Sanchez.  I think he got 3 of Sanchez in 1 year.  All Byrd do was play center field safety, to his credit he did catch the balls.  He didnt do much at all in New Orleans.

He was very good his second to last season in Buffalo. His final season in Buffalo he was injured and he never got back to his all-pro level of 2012.
