Zamboni Man Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Jack White @ 17 is a joke, no way in hell he's in the top 20. envirojeff Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 This list is a joke! I could change about 90 of these. Jeff
Fezmid Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 John Petrucci didn't even make the list, even though everywhere I go people are saying he's one of the best guitar players out there. CW
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 This list is a crock: No Marty Friedman. No Kirk Hammet Hell, even Cliff Burtn, a bass player, was better than half these guys. I'm sorry, but not putting one of the greatest lead guitarists in all of heavy metal history is craptastic to say the least.
BRH Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 This list came out over a year ago. I have only had the pleasure of seeing #'s 13, 28, 40, 50, 70, 72 and 88 play live.

FanfromAlbany Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Jack White of the White Strips ahead of Richie Blackmore?!?!? Right.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I agree the list sucks, but Kirk Hammett is #11 348230 Doh... so much for reading thoroughly. Even still, Friedman's a better guitarist than most of the top 10 in that list. Listen To "Polaris" and you'll see what i mean.
elcrusho Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Hahah Megadeth.... Yeah Blind Melons - July 95..... Megadeth Korn Fear Factory Flotsom & Jetsom
MattyT Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 This list is both thorough and absurd. It makes almost as much sense reading it from 100-1 as it does from 1-100. Weird.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Hahah Megadeth.... Yeah Blind Melons - July 95..... Megadeth Korn Fear Factory Flotsom & Jetsom 348235 Sounds like a good show. I saw Korn with...get this...Sugar Ray (before they got all girly) in Savnnah, GA about 2 weeks before I left. LOUD.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I know Rolling Stone magazine sucks... 348226 Last month, I'm over at the health club working out. I grab a magazine from the pile on the table next to the bikes, and I get on one of the bikes to warm up for 10 minutes prior to doing some weights. I'm skimming through the magazine while on the bike, when one of my friends gets on the bike next to mine and starts pedaling. He says hi to me, then he looks over at the magazine that I have, and sees all of the advertisements in the magazine, as well as me flipping through it (about 3 seconds per page). He points to the magazine and asks, "What is that - a gay guy's clothes catalogue?". I answered, "Actually, it's Rolling Stone magazine."
Surfmeister Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Here are my favorites. My very best ones are in bold >> 1 Jimi Hendrix 2 Duane Allman 8 Ry Cooder 14 Jeff Beck 23 Warren Haynes 25 Freddy King 27 Mark Knopfler 51 Paul Kossoff 70 Eddie Van Halen (with brown sound & DLR) 74 Johnny Winter 96 Angus Young Not Listed: Albert King (SRV lifted his act from Albert King) Rev Billy Gibbons Steve Vai Los Straitjackets Jazz: Larry Carlton Wes Montgomery Kenny Burrell Worst of the list: 6 Chuck Berry 30 Buddy Guy (King of Overplay) 50 Pete Townshend 52 Lou Reed 83 Neil Young (sheer torture) 91 Robby Krieger of the Doors (took pride in NOT changing his strings)
ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 james burton ------ the best.............
MattyT Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 John Petrucci didn't even make the list, even though everywhere I go people are saying he's one of the best guitar players out there. CW 348226 Including me. He is one of the best in the progressive genre. And how does Steve Vai NOT make this list? Half these guys were too drunk or stoned to remember what scale they were playing in, yet Steve Vai doesn't even make the list? I wonder if this has something to do with Ralph Macchio outplaying him in "Crossroads?"
Tux of Borg Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Dimebag, Slash, Zack Wylde, Kerry King, George Lynch... i'm sure there are a lot of others that should be on that list that i am forgetting.
1billsfan Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Rolling Stone lost it's credibilty a long long time ago. This joke list will not help it's search.
erynthered Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Dimebag, Slash, Zack Wylde, Kerry King, George Lynch... i'm sure there are a lot of others that should be on that list that i am forgetting. 348251 Yeah, like where are all those great guiter playing rappers, they should be on that list too, oops, wait...............
