You can't breathe, and God forbid you attempt to laugh. I hope for an uneventful recovery. It's been one week.. it feels like a month. He's pretty doped up, but he's able to walk, stand, and doing well considering. He's very lucky. 1 3 1 Quote

Check your surroundings. I don't need or want sympathy. I don't need the well wishes. I need people to be safe... That being said. We were felling trees and a tree fell on my brother. He is ok, concussed and broken bones. It could have been much worse. In literally the time it took for him to pull his phone out and answer a call the tree came down. He was far enough away and the tree should have never fallen like it did. He was not paying full attention. That .01% of the thousands of trees I fell wasn't worth it. I'm glad he's OK. No surgery needed, thankfully. Or relatively OK. "completely crushed T9" sounds potentially life altering. Has he movement in his legs? Quote

Has he movement in his legs? Yes, miraculously. The fracture split it diagonally with the bone breaking into smaller pieces; luckily it did not shift because the ER was scared of they moved him it could severe his spinal cord. They did a full body CT as soon as he arrived and stunned he sustained that much damage. I asked why the discs didn't burst with shards of bone breaking throughout his back. They said the spine is there to take the force and it did it's job It won't let attach a layer of his CT scan; it's... Jacked. Edit: as far as the nerves. I crushed my disc L5-S1 just a few days shy of 2 years ago from today. I couldn't feel my right leg. I didn't even have an issue until almost 8 hours after the workout I was doing for him, a trauma doctor kept checking all sorts of points. They put him in some contraption to help blood flow, everything. Baptist is a good hospital, luckily we got him to level 1 trauma. Edited June 19, 2023 by boyst 1 Quote
