Hes not a guy who will wreck a gameplan and most likely will never be the focal point of the opposing offensive line but he takes advantage of that and produces especially when he is surrounded by other talented players. He's gonna pressure the QB

the pass rush was dreadful so they needed someone but this guy was a bust until he got to play next to Aaron Donald.

my girlfriend could rack up 6-8 sacks playing next to Donald, Floyd won’t have that luxury here

I know. We should’ve signed Myles Garrett this time around… surprised that he’s still sitting out there.

He’s a good get this late. Previously paired up with Von. Hopefully draws some attention away from  Oliver so he can finally get after the QB.

Looks like their trying to recreate the dline the Rams had a couple years ago

Throw Floyd in with:

Poona Ford

Daquan Jones

Ed Oliver

Greg Rousseau

Von Miller

Jordan Phillips

Tim Settle

Shaq Lawson

That's a pretty nice D Front rotation.

So Floyd doesn’t make the 53 man roster?

Epenesa? add in Floyd and that’s 10 deep. They won’t all make it.

From Franchise Sports, an article on the best free agents still out there:

Leonard Floyd

Just about every team could use another pass rusher, which is why it’s surprising to see Leonard Floyd still on the market this late in the offseason. The Rams released him in March to help clear some cap space, although he’s someone who should have been picked up quickly. The fact that Floyd is now 30 is the only reason why teams would be hesitant to sign him, especially if he’s hoping to land a multi-year deal.

However, Floyd has started every week of the regular season for five straight years, so he’s not been injury-prone in his career. He’s also amassed at least nine sacks in three straight seasons, not including the one he had in the Super Bowl two seasons ago. He may not be an elite pass rusher, but he’s a safe bet to grab 8-10 sacks, making him a valuable commodity.

Does Miller start out on PUP list? Or even IR?

Well then maybe your GF should sign an NFL contract.  1-Techs are hard to come by so she would get a great offer.

This was important. You saw how the defense fell off when Vonn went down. Need another Viable option for early in the season until Vonn all the way back.

9 sack guy each of last three seasons. To get that production late in UFA is really good.

happy with this signing even if it is on the DL yet again. This does solve a sneaky little need with really only 2 productive DEs in Miller and Groot

It feels more and more as though Basham and Epenesa will be camp casualties.  It’s disappointing and no feather in Beane’s cap to whiff on two 2nd rounders, but at least he’s not doubling down on the mistake by standing pat.

Hard to criticize this signing.

Fantastic signing especially for this stage of the off season. And he can hold down the fort until Von is back...no need to rush him now.

Then adding him to Miller...hoo boy this defense is gonna eat!

our defense, fully healthy, has to be an extremely scary thought for opposing teams.
