Ed Oliver big extension

I am genuinely shocked by this.

Laughable. Can’t wait to hear the justification for this from the fanboys. 17 million a year for a guy who doesn’t produce? That is a contract for a great DT, not Ed Oliver. Brandon Beane continues to pay and overrate players he drafted.

I'll add the usual disclaimer that we need to see what the actual contract numbers look like. The initial numbers are always agent driven.

 

I would guess his cap number this year will be reduced.

Don’t know the numbers but this looks like a gamble by Beane. I thought 2023 would be his last year as a Bill.

 

Need more production with that kind of money.

That was one of my first thoughts. Maybe freeing up space for Hopkins?

I legitimately did not see this coming.  It feels like Beane blinked first knowing that he didn't have any DT's under contract for next year.

Just for the record, I was wrong on Edmunds, and I was wrong on Oliver. So for future reference just take the opposite of what I say and you'll know what's going to happen.

Respectfully, I don’t see that at all. He did not “blink”, and he is not desperate because we don’t have DT’s under contract for next year. 

 

Agree or not, they think he’s a pretty darn good football player when healthy.
