HappyDays Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I am genuinely shocked by this. 12 21 3 3 6 1 1 1 5 1 4 Quote
MWK Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) Laughable. Can’t wait to hear the justification for this from the fanboys. 17 million a year for a guy who doesn’t produce? That is a contract for a great DT, not Ed Oliver. Brandon Beane continues to pay and overrate players he drafted. Edited June 3, 2023 by MWK 14 1 7 1 14 2 3 Quote
Billsfan4588 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) Color me confused. I'd understand if it was a discount, but that's top dollar. Edited June 3, 2023 by Billsfan4588 3 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted June 3, 2023 Author Posted June 3, 2023 I'll add the usual disclaimer that we need to see what the actual contract numbers look like. The initial numbers are always agent driven. I would guess his cap number this year will be reduced. 2 5 6 Quote
Beast Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) Huh. A lot of money for a guy that hasn’t made a play that changed a game in my memory. Edited June 3, 2023 by Beast 4 11 1 Quote
zevo Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Gotta think he is a major piece in mcd defense 4 5 Quote
Dave_Bills Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Don’t know the numbers but this looks like a gamble by Beane. I thought 2023 would be his last year as a Bill. Need more production with that kind of money. 13 1 Quote

mushypeaches Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I legitimately did not see this coming. It feels like Beane blinked first knowing that he didn't have any DT's under contract for next year. Seems out of character 3 1 4 Quote
RunTheBall Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Just for the record, I was wrong on Edmunds, and I was wrong on Oliver. So for future reference just take the opposite of what I say and you'll know what's going to happen. 3 11 Quote
Augie Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I love this, if just for the entertainment value on the Board! It should be priceless!!! One for the ages, even! 😋 9 2 18 2 Quote
BattlinBill Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Does this mean we finally have a dt signed for next year?🤔 1 2 Quote

He did not “blink”, and he is not desperate because we don’t have DT’s under contract for next year. Agree or not, they think he’s a pretty darn good football player when healthy. 5 6 Quote
MiltonWaddams Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 This came out of nowhere. I was in the camp that saw him vacating the premises after next season, and possibly even earlier. Quote
zevo Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Remember when we thought we were trading him for DHop? 😳 4 3 6 Quote
CNYfan Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 This has a bit of a Chris Kelsay feel to it. Not a great player, but we will ride him for 4 more. 1 1 1 2 1 Quote
