Bills have #4 toughest strength of schedule (ALL AFC East teams in top 5)

Healthy players at the end of the season matters more than strength of schedule.  The Bills have the talent to win it all.  They now need the health of key players to do it.

I for one LOVE a tough schedule. Who wants to skate their way into the playoffs and not be fully battle tested? Long gone are the days of hoping for an easy schedule just to end the drought. Now the fear is not being prepared enough and falling short to tough teams when it matters most. I am still hammering the OVER on the 10.5 win odds. 11-6 or better is a lock for me if we remain relatively healthy.

 

Would you guys prefer a tougher schedule, mid strength schedule, or easier schedule, and why?

Given we knew who the Bills were playing and it looked a tought slate, the way the schedule worked out is pretty darn sweet.

 

Paper Jaguars.   They are the Giants of the AFC.  They would need 10 weeks to beat the Bills.

Ha, maybe. I still think the Bills will win the game. But I think the Jags will be our toughest home assignment given the circumstances.

Obviously the Bills will be heavy favorites, but an Urban Meyer Jacksonville beat Buffalo, so I doubt it's 10 tries. They're a pretty decent team.

Kind of funny reading some of the schedule analysis online. One comments on the likely prospect of Denver being much improved, with Peyton there to help get Wilson on track.  This is the general wisdom this off season.  I betcha the same people who predicted the Broncos to be much improved this past year, with Wilson leading the way, are the same myopics predicting this again.  They don't believe their own eyes, for some reason.

 

I would agree that Wilson will make that leap this year if they give him the following tools: new arm, new brain, new leadership qualities, and motivation. He will be much improved only with these additions; otherwise he will not be Denver's starting quarterback for long (or ever again).

 

Not worried about the Bills' tough schedule this year, only about the Bills improving since last year, and if Dorsey learned dramatically more this of off season about how to run a multi-dimensional offense that utilizes all aspects of the offense and  all of their talented players.  The Bills' schedule is almost irrelevant, I think. This year is about the internal improvements needed to take a step forward--and to halt the clear regression seen last year, despite a great record.

That’s true but Bills have advantage on time rest between games vs say KC who has the least time rest between games. That’s more important than where they’re playing to me.

Bills should win but Allen has lost to the Jags before so it’s not unprecedented.

I agree with you that Jags will be tough. Lawrence will be entering his third NFL season now and getting a weapon in Calvin Ridley.  And Etienne will be second season removed from his injury.  
 

On the question posed by the OP, I’d prefer an easier to middle of the pack schedule, whatever ultimately would increase our chances to earn the bye.  Unfortunately, I think we have our work cut out for ourselves this year.

I think the tougher the better . You have to beat the best to be the best ! Plus i think that it will get them prepared to be ready for the play offs the only thing is you have those games like the Jags game a couple years ago that can sneak up on them .

 

I think given all of the improvements all over the team that the Bills will be there in the end & i'm glad every one doesn't have the Bills in the spot light like last year I'd rather them be in a underdog type of position rather than be the bell of the ball .

The toughness of the division within itself is a big part of that.  The Pats had some of the easiest schedules repeatedly because all three other teams sucked more often than not.

I have been wondering if the NFL will lean into the Browns as the new league villain. The only thing people tune in to watch more than a person or team they love is one they hate. The Patriots and Brady aren’t able to fill that void now. Seems like the Browns are a good bet IF they can win. If they stay around .500 or worse, they won’t generate the emotions needed to make the casual fans care enough to watch them.

Things change, but it is indeed a tough schedule.  The division is tough as is, then throw in the AFC West and NFC East...
