Emmanuel Acho’s Top 5 AFC Teams

Seems to me that to be a preseason top-5 team, you have to have a preseason top-5 quarterback (pretty tough to be top-5 with a mediocre QB).   Tua, of course, is a stretch in that category (I don't care who his receivers are), so I'd have a serious argument with the guy about the Dolphins being on his list.  But the other four - hey, those are excellent quarterbacks (I'd never try to build a team around Jackson, but he's a former MVP, and that's nothing to sneeze at).

So, okay, that's his list.   But if he wants pick any of Miami, the Jets, or the Ravens to win the Super Bowl over the Bills, I'll take each of those bets.  The odds makers certainly don't like those teams better than the Bills.

I really, really don't get how people can look at Tua and think he's a big-time QB.

I agree with the bolded part. If you were to put Tua on any other team, he'd be nothing more than average. But his durability issues will always hold him back, and how the Dolphins didn't invest more in OL in both the draft and free agency completely baffles me.

I was just listening to a podcast with Andrew Fillipponi, and I believe he said he personally has Buffalo as the 6th team in the AFC right now.

That's not that far off, IMO.

And yet the odds on the Bills to win the Super Bowl are better than every AFC team except the Chiefs.

Lmao

I’ll believe the Jets are a playoff team when they make it and not a second before.

They beat the Bills with Zach Wilson and next time it was a good game until Milano wrecked their QB's ribcage. You don't think they will be better with the QB who won 2 out of the last 3 MVPs? You guys are dreaming

Given Wilson's numbers in that game, I don't think it mattered who was at QB that day, the Bills were as flat as they could get

So they will get blown out by Rodgers and co.

Better? Probably. Playoff team? Maybe.

you scared bro?

Nope just being realistic while 99% of this board chooses to live in fantasy land. If we can go .500 or better in the AFC East I think that will be a good season given the current level of competition

The Bills didn’t sign Sherfield, Harty, Harris, McGovern or draft Kincaid or Torrence this past off-season? Funny, I must have been dreaming that because I was all but sure the Bills improved on offense compared to what they had last season.

Thanks for setting the record straight.

I'm not sure all those guys are improvements.   Kincaid may take a year before he's used regularly.   Our defense is suspect now as well.  Fingers crossed that you're right.

It’s hilarious how sensitive some fans are and do the “who?” He’s a regular dude with an opinion like yours. It rarely is personal. The afc is loaded and on paper some teams got better and made bigger moves than us.

and I love not being the favorites. I hated having the target on our backs. I’d rather be the slept on team. I’m definitely going to be sprinkling some money on the Bills winning the AFC and Super Bowl. So keep saying other teams are better and get me a better payout!

no one is living in fantasy land.  you're just being over the top crowing the jets for something they have yet to prove.  does rodgers make them better?  of course. am i trembling thinking the jets will ruin the bills season.  not at all.  even with rodgers i think think this team is better.  if you want to keep referring to one jets game last year as if it will carry over...go nuts.

You don’t seem to realize that Emmanuel has been a troll ever since he moved to FS1.  All of there talent is instructed to have ridiculous opinions for attention.  Just ask Shady

So you think their big plan for ratings was to fire up the second smallest fanbase in the nfl?  That loser skip saying stuff about lebron is one thing but I genuinely think this is his opinion.

the wild card is all 3 of those teams had qb woes last season. If Rodgers, Lamar and tua are healthy, that’s good for a couple games each and suddenly it gets real close.

im not sure you can count on any of them carrying their teams the whole way, but last year was basically worst case scenarios for all 3 teams at the most important position.

Yeah, the Bills had just awesome luck with QB injuries last season.

I mean, having your UCL torn in half in game 8 is almost as good as a sponge bath from Margot Robbie.

Dolphins number 2 is him trolling the Bills Mafia for clicks, don't give him the satisfaction. If I am ranking the top 5 I would put it

  1. KC (Defending Champs and they have the talent/pedigree to be in the spot)
  2. Bengals (AFC champs 1 year removed AFCCG last year with a lot of talent)
  3. Bills (strong roster, great QB and really no other roster on in the AFC as complete top to bottom besides KC and Cincy)
  4. Ravens (QB who can be dynamic, more WR talent to add with Andrews at TE and a solid defense)
  5. Jets (Solid all-around roster with a vet QB in Rodgers who still has something left in the tank a few holes on the roster but still a good team)

You can't seriously make an argument for the Fins whose QB is both an injury concern and not that dynamic and a roster that has some holes.

Bills are +905 rn to win the Super Bowl, second in the AFC to KC. And believe it or not the line hasn't shifted since this news came out lol

Brothers canNOT let go of this futile Lamar Jackson love....

What do you mean by “brothers”? 🤔

And it’s crazy that a guy who has a 41-16 career record might have a top 5 afc team with the best receiving core he has ever have and a defense that played really well at the end of the year. Crazy talk!

In terms of pure talent, they have a top 5 roster in the nfl. Their GM has done a great job of stacking that roster. And I would kill for that nerd to be running our offense.

Josh Allen on the fins might be the SB favorites. But I agree it’s a huge ? On Tua. But they are a super talented team. It’s not that crazy
