It makes a lot of sense if you think about it.  The networks pay billions for the nfl rights.  This is a way for the network to sell its premium service to millions of people.  Major League Baseball already is doing this with Peacock.  They have early sunday morning games (which I absolutely love) and friday night apple tv games...the apple tv games are free however.

its not really that big of a deal, in the mid 90s they had thursday night football on tnt.  Not everyone had cable.  So this stuff is nothing new.

Last year Week 1 only had one MNF game too.
