nope, if you are that close with this offense, you go for it.

With this offense?  Have you not been watching the last few weeks?

How do you know that MA hasn’t been working on that part of his game? I mean, he’s had a lot of free time, so I would assume that he’s not just sitting on the couch watching MeTV. And of course you can’t deny that he has one of the strongest legs in recent years. You did see that 80 yarder during the preseason, right?

Yes.  Saw the 80 yarder.  That’s why in my post I said “net over 50”.

Has he been working on short kicks?  Hope so if he wants to stick on a team if he’s picked up.

I have.  I'd still go for it.  Or just punt a touchback.  Depends on where we are.   Can't give teams like Cincy or other good offenses short fields, esp. with the current state of the D.  Would rather be able to get out of our own end and then give a touchback on a punt.

I mean this kindly and humbly, and with all sincerity:

Punter is the absolute least of the Bills' worries.

No punter on earth would change the Bills' record or fix their primary shortcomings this season.

We can take the genetics of Ray Guy, Brian Moorman, Lionel Messi, and a kangaroo, put them in a petri dish, mix 'em up, and create a perfect Franken-punter, and it still won't fix what ails the Bills.

The legal stuff is old news.  But I thought his civil trial was supposed to have started already.  Did they cancel it for lack of evidence like they should have?

Ok, dude would kill the ball from the 10 yard line and net over 50.  Fine.

Just wait until he is asked for a shorter coffin corner punt and he fails.  Will there be “bring back Martin threads”?

Proof that we should carry two punters.  Oh, and bring back Taiwan Jones, too.

Ah gotcha. I still would have like them to state "innocent until proven guilty". Instead they caved to "me too" and media pressure.

Kinda funny if the Bills would’ve said that, since they aren’t a criminal court and that evidentiary standard doesn’t apply to them at all.

Hard pass -- just because he wasnt found guilty does not mean he was found innocent.

Prosecuters declined to go after him based on single eye witness testimony from one of Arizas friends. So no one even had a chance to weigh his guilt really

I couldn’t give less of a **** about Araiza either way, but this isn’t even close to the truth. There were a multitude of things that went into the prosecution’s decision not to pursue charges. The alleged victim was a trainwreck and not the least bit credible by witness standards. Multiple people disputed the alleged victim’s account, including people who know and did not know Araiza. Cell phone data and videos also contradicted her accounts, including her assertion that Araiza was present inside the house during the gang assault.

Here we go again with this. There was a MASSIVE thread about it when this news dropped months ago.

But now we realize Martin is a liability.

I am thinking that if he returns to the NFL, he may well not want to be with the Bills who canned him without due process.  I know I would not return to such an employer.

Araiza's civil trial wont be until February next year. So he will have to wait until then to have any chance of an NFL comeback.  There's a good chance that he will be exonerated at that trial too.

He should countersue imho.

Martin's not a liability... he hasn't cost us one single game. The fact that there is an obsession over a punter when we have so many more serious problems is disturbing

I was thinking of this a few weeks ago.

Martin is hot and cold like a motel shower.

Bringing in a zero experience punter who hasn’t played in 2 years will surely fix that.

Yeah but no other team signed him either.

My post was an indictment of Martin, not in support of MA. Martin is great punting from the 30 yard line or better. He's old and his leg is limited. Not gonna save us if we start within our own 10-15 yard line (like we did three times versus Cincy) and go three and out. Cincy worked short fields all game and sent Martin a game ball.
