WhoTom Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 My interest in the British monarchy is the same now as it was when Charles married Diana, and I watched the same amount of the coronation as I did of their wedding. Zero. 2 Quote
Gugny Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 To a very small extent, I get that some people across the pond are interested in the royal family. But I do not understand why every TV channel except the food network has to shove this down our throats here in the U.S. 1 1 Quote

Draconator Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 And now for something completely different. I watched the last hour of the ceremony and the procession, on the London feed of BBC One. Quote

But my wife had it on around 6:15am so I did get to hear some of it before I cranked up the white noise machine. That fixed THAT! Edited May 6, 2023 by Augie 1 Quote

Beast Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 (edited) I think the whole Royal Family stuff is cool but I’m certainly not glued to it. The United Kingdom, in general, is pretty awesome. Edited May 7, 2023 by Beast Quote

coloradobillsfan Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 It helps to go there. All the history puts things in perspective. Westminster Abbey to be particular. Kings that Shakespeare wrote about are laying right there in front of you. In 2066 we'll celebrate 1000 years since the one single battle that caused us to be writing a combination of Germanic and French languages right now. It's pretty neat when you think about it 1 1 Quote
