It happens randomly out of nowhere and then it's gone just as quick. A bunch of teams have paid him a lot of money hoping to see some lightning only to get a dud. I was just going to post the "lightning in a bottle" sentiment. He had his moment of glory and fizzled back to normalcy. Quote

Other than that, he has mostly been on rosters as a backup since he won the SB with Philly (worked out well for the Eagles, no?) and he has been paid backup money. As for who I would pick for backup? Foles all day long over Kyle Allen. He had 1 almost mediocre season as starter, the rest he's been a dud as a backup. Doesn't really matter. If Josh goes down we are done. Quote

He’s been pedestrian in limited time since. And I disagree with the OPs premise that Foles is big and strong. He is tall though. As mentioned upthread Foles would cost more and this team is tight to the cap. I'm skeptical Foles would justify the greater cost. 26 minutes ago, Gugny said: If Allen goes down, the Bills are done, regardless of who the backup is. It depends on how many games he misses. 7 hours ago, John from Riverside said: I just think you could say that about any QB we’re going to have if he won say two out of three games if Josh was not behind center that would be a success Agreed. I disagree with the premise at all, so nothing beyond that matters to me, he's not worth it even if the price was the same as our backup currently in my opinion. I think Allen has better upside. Still digesting it, not sure if I agree or disagree. But if we lose Allen and our season is toast. That’s saying a lot about our team. I’d like to think we would still be competitive. But if we are not, and depend on Allen that much, we aren’t a SB team. 1 Quote
dpberr Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I'd say no. Nick Foles knows the Andy Reid playbook. Plays without hesitation and makes smart decisions. Outside of said playbook, he's not all that good. Quote

Albany,n.y. Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Whatever Foles had left in the tank has been gone for years now. He should just go home, count his money, look at his Super Bowl ring and be a full time dad. Quote

Has he been a starter for a whole season? No but he has won games In addition to that his personal strengths, match our 2° no he’s not Josh Allen nobody is but he’s mobile and he’s got an arm on him I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in camp Kyle has played on some real crappy teams in his career. I give him a decent shot of improving with the Bills organization into a long-term serviceable backup. We'll know more in camp. Quote
