The union contracts are probably already paying out at dome prices if you extend the canopy it will likely be floating at space ship stadium costs. 🚀 🏟️ Facts! Times have changed though and the next generation of Bill's fans wont show up to a cold stadium unless the team is winning. I hate to imagine what the down years will look like at the New Highmark, especially with enormous ticket prices. uticaclub Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Football is an outdoor game. The Jets and Patriots don't have domes; it would make us look soft if we built one. There’s nothing better than a snow game, especially one where the fans have shelter. 1 Quote

I have spoken to several NFL players in years past, as well as recently and they have all said the same thing... "Not unless they pay me considerably more than anyone else". I can list the reasons that they have all said made them consider playing elsewhere, and this includes many of our former players. This made me wonder if it was possible to extend the canopy to cover more of the stands and partially the field? From what I remember, the original renderings showed that Toilet Bowl look, where the entire stands where covered as well as part of the field. Couple that with some kind of wind blocking technology that was supposed to keep the wind off of the field, but the newest renderings show that only about 60% of the stands are covered, leaving the snow shoveling to continue, as well as snow and wind gusts. I think its doable. Let me draw up some ideas and run them by you. With our sign off, I'm sure we can get the rest of the budget overdraft committee to approve it and we'll have that over to the contractor before Friday. Quote

I think there are a contingent of players who wont go to a winner cause its cold... I would say I dont want them... gimmie guys that dont care and want to win in whatever they play in... I think legitimately what you are saying is very problematic if we are losing and not a contender.. that I think is when you need palm trees LOL... oops wrong thread Quote

Players often pointed out they want to play with Josh and take less. This is a desirable market, and the canopy already will cover 65% of fans. In time maybe they can make small increases to 75% or so, but is that really so bad. The wind confusion alone will mitigate a large portion of the harsh elements. If you go from high winds to almost nothing or slight, and you’re not rained or snowed on, the fan has still gets our history of an outdoor team. its better than what Pittsburgh, Cleveland, NE, NJJ, and NJG deal with regularly. Players want to play with HOF QB in the making. There is no way Josh doesn’t get into the HOF with another 10-12 years of success under his belt. Quote

Please name one player that we didn't have to over pay to be here, that is actually elite that came here because of Josh Allen. I was team Josh when he was at Wyoming, so this isn't a slight to Josh. I just want someone to name one player that is elite, especially on offense. 3 minutes ago, machine gun kelly said: You beat me to it Turk. Josh isn't the problem here. We need elite Wr's and some consistent playmakers on defense to win it all. That on top of a HC that can adjust his defense when it matters most. 1 Quote

I’ve had beer spilled on me in almost every section, including the Clubs. One guy started patting me on the head after big plays for some reason. He was drunk and harmless. After a while he said “Hey! Your hair is all wet!”. I said “I know, you keep spilling beer on me.” 😂 🍺 1 Quote

LabattBlue Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago The steel which was supposed to be completed by February appears to be behind schedule. The upper deck(and roof canopy) of at least a 1/3 of the stadium(what I will call the south end) has not even begun…or at least not when I drove by a week or two ago. Time will tell, but I am starting to wonder if this will be ready in less than 18 months. 1 Quote

Plus, the NFL LOVES snow games in Buffalo and Green Bay. It's made for TV. Lest we forget, this is a TV product, and there's few backdrops in all of pro sports quite like Bills fans on a snowy gameday in WNY Snow and cold don't really slow down offenses. Wind can. Remember the Wild Card game vs NE when it was like -10? We never punted the entire game and pretty much scored at will. I think it was that same season that we played the wind game vs NE during the regular season where nobody threw the ball. Edited 13 hours ago by TheFunPolice 3 Quote

They didn’t sound behind. I can’t remember exactly what had to be done but I believe it was installing all the steel. Quote

I didn’t write elite, but we have several very solid players that came here because they want to play with Josh. The easiest example is he bought O Line. We didn’t overpay for Edwards, and McGovern, yet we have a top O Line in the NFL. Go look at whatever website you want. Cooper was a trade, but we captured him for $850 k, and whether you agree he’s a solid player, he’s helped this team. Rasul Douglas loves being here, and we didn’t overpay for him. We also have depth players that want to play on a winning team as evidenced by a 3rd 13 win season. What do you want? Sure, the SB, but that’s what 31 teams want every year. The team is more than a sum of its parts. This is probably the second most talented team in the NFL behind the Eagles, if you consider head to toe. Not just the starters. Quote
SirAndrew Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) The dome vs open air debate is irrelevant at this point, I’ve just been waiting for a rendering or press release about the stadium that will impress me. It has yet to happen. The recent concourse renderings look nice new and shiny, but nothing looks particularly modern, or on par with other new stadiums. It might impress me in person, we’ll have to see. Edited 11 hours ago by SirAndrew 1 Quote
