The wind is pretty smart. It may get confused initially but usually gets the last laugh.

Wind confusion fail:

The new stadium is 90° offset from the current stadium angle to the west.

Are you familiar with Bernoulli's principle? It's essentially what allows planes to fly. While the "wind-confusing" skin on the stadium will reduce the breeze through the stadium, when that same wind hits the canopy and is pushed upward, it will reduce the pressure of the air below and could create a horizontal cyclone over the field.

I assume that was considered in the design.

I went with my dad to see the stadium progress a bunch of times.  It was pretty cool.

20 years ago I knew a crew who ate a lot of asparagus and beer in the lot pregame and at halftime would all go to the head waters of the piss trough and release the asparapee to float down for everyone to enjoy.  Gross.

Let’s hope but who knows.

The "Canopy" in Seattle didn't look like it was keeping a lot of fans dry today

For those familiar with the area, if you are on Southwestern(between Michael Rd & Union Rd) heading towards the stadium, just before you get to Lowes(high point on Southwestern), you can see the stadium roof above the tree line.  Will probably be a cool sight when the lights are on.

Has there been any discussion on the orientation of the new stadium.  In the current stadium the sun shines into the visitor side, in the new it looks it will mostly shine into the EZ.  Curious what determined the orientation - prevailing wind, sun, or some other factor(s)

Some misinformation in that video.

That video says almost nothing other than what we already know and about a hundred references to the cost. No idea what the point was. I guess they had to fill air time. 🙄

When the voice over said that the stadium will be owned by the Pegulas is when I turned it off.  There was something else they mentioned earlier that I knew was wrong also.  I'd have to re-watch it to see what it was.

A thought popped into my head today during the game.  With the new stadium holding 10,000 less people, figuring an average of 4 people in a car, that should be about 2,500 less vehicles.  I wonder if that will be noticeable with traffic coming and leaving the games, or just a drop in the bucket.

Probably won't change much since they will all be stretch limos.

I suspect less groups and more single and two person cars so may be more traffic.

Football fields are generally oriented in a general North/South configuration because of the sun.  They couldn't do that with the current stadium because of the graveyard on the property that the family wouldn't allow to be moved.  This is partially why Bills games look different on TV than any other stadium. The sun angle is different from what is typical.  Go ahead, Google Map it around.  Google Maps defaults to the top of the screen being North using the Mercator Projection. Coincidentally, one of the only stadiums to have a similar configuration to Highmark Stadium is Hard Rock Stadium.

The new stadium is a little more Northwest to Southeast than strictly North/South and looking at a map that would seem to be at a roughly 90 degree angle to prevailing wind.

SO the answer to your question is a little bit of wins and sun both.
