The original estimated cost was $1.4 billion. wkbw. I believe the Pegulas are on the hook for costs above the initial $1.4b so I’d be interested to see if that’s changed at all. 1

So as you go up each successive row has more seats. Now, I’m not saying that it’s actually 50% but you cannot look at a single cross section and declare the figure to be inaccurate. Livinginthepast
Not sure if this question was asked on this thread but will the new stadium design have any effect on the neutralizing the often unpredictable winds in Orchard park? Or is it going to be the exact same? When I was at the stadium last week for the first time since 2010 I had several flashbacks to previous visits where the wind would change several times in the game. AkwiredTste
Did they factor in the cost of the statue for 17?

I shlt you not, they designed the exterior to confuse the wind.

Thought Livinginthepast was being sarcastic. Wind confusion has been a running joke on this board since the design was revealed. https://www.audacy.com/wben/news/local/new-bills-stadium-to-feature-mesh-like-exterior

The stadium we have now is basically fuel for wind. The new stadium will be much less windy simply because it’s closed all the way around. That said, it’s an open roof in buffalo. It’ll still be a very windy stadium compared to the league, just less windy than our current stadium.

Jukester
The wind is pretty smart. It may get confused initially but usually gets the last laugh. Snow affects the stadium quite a bit but nothing has made a game more unwatchable at it than the wind. Case in point the Patriots game in 2021. Hopefully the closed at both ends design will mitigate that .

The new version won’t be perfect , but should improve a lot with the more vertical design and different orientation.

Initial stadium design for Rich Stadium had opening different direction but it was changed post initial design. Opening for current being built stadium is different direction so will affect wind as well.
