I’m not expecting you to fawn over anything the Chiefs do.  I understand that you’re a charter member of the “only the Bills have good players” club.  I’m just amused by the simultaneous notions here that Mahomes only wins championships and MVPs over Josh because Kansas City has a better line and better weapons than Buffalo…but also that Bills fans would be “murdering their front office” if they allowed Josh to be surrounded with a “patchwork offensive line” and a bunch of “reclamation projects” at receiver.  Seems like those are diametrically opposing viewpoints.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites and the biggest additions the Bills made to a subpar line was Connor McGovern and a late second round Guard.  Perhaps they along with Trent Sherfield and Deonte Harty (who are clearly established, elite WRs as opposed to KaDarius Toney who is merely a reclamation project) will be enough to bridge the difference between scoring 10 points in the Divisional Round and scoring 38 points in the Super Bowl.

Again…..  if there’s an OUTPOURING of negative responses you’d surely be able to click that little plus icon to multi quote all of these negative posts that you find funny when someone suggests the chiefs have a better OL than the Bills.

so use the handy little icon and defend your ridiculous comment.

There’s literally a response button at the bottom of every post.  See the response I just made to yours?  That’s called a Super Bowl trophy.  Now look at the responses to the post I made where suggested that the Kansas City front office was in no danger of being murdered by angry Chiefs fans.  Those s are negative responses.    You seem to be referring to replies. Maybe my calling them “reactions” instead of “responses” would have been clearer.  Hopefully that clears things up.

Don’t move the goalposts.  This is the comment I called out.
“but the minute someone suggests that the Chiefs have a better line than the Bills, there’s an outpouring of negative responses (not referring to you).”

Making a negative comment about the chiefs isn’t what you were alluding to in your post. You were specific in what you found to be funny.  So be specific and show me the evidence that it took place.

but you’ll continue to move the goalposts.  Per usual.

What I find funny is that you claimed that the bills are your second favorite team, while all you do is cry about Bills fans being protective of their team….. on a Bills website.

I’ve quoted the post I made that got all of the negative responses below.  It was literally the last post I had made before I made my comment about people reacting negatively to me comparing what KC has assembled to Buffalo and that “I don’t see some glaring advantage”.  At the time, it had 3 reactions, and they were all “disagree”.  Either way, I’m done discussing it.

I do like the Bills, and I think their fans deserve a Super Bowl.  I made no response to Bills fans being protective of their team.  The response I made was to someone saying that Bills fans would murder their front office for what Veach and Reid had assembled.  It was a laughably bad take.  If I’m crying about anything, it’s the price of Super Bowl merchandise.  I don’t know if you’ve priced any lately, but it’s not cheap.

Well now we’ve just lost our minds.  The KC interior line was arguably the best in football last season.  The tackles were a weakness, and they’ve been replaced.  Jawaan Taylor and Donovan Smith are at worst equal to Brown and Wylie. Brown is a good player but a poor fit in that offense while Wylie was a backup caliber Guard doing his best at RT.  I’d take Thuney, Creed, Trey, and Taylor over all four of their counterparts in Buffalo.  If the Bills have an edge at LT, it’s minimal.  It’s hardly a patchwork line.

The WR room is largely unproven, but the offense has proven it can be championship level without stars there as long as they’ve got a top 5 pass catcher in the league who just happens to line up next to the tackles on occasion.  Even so, there’s a lot of young potential with Toney, Moore, and Rice all age 24 and under.  Compare that to Buffalo who has Diggs and not much else, and I don’t see some glaring advantage.

Pretty sure Andy Reid and Brett Veach aren’t worried about getting murdered by their fans unless it’s from getting mobbed at yet another Super Bowl parade.

Well Andy Reid agreed to pay Taylor way more that’s what Brown got, and he’s got as good of a track record at building offensive lines as anyone on the planet.  I have to assume he watched some Jacksonville film before he made that decision.

People just do not understand how crappy a pass blocker Orlando Brown is/was and how KC schemed around him and how Mahomes bailed him out.

I am CERTAIN that the Bengals, are quickly going to regret putting Brown at LT and thinking that is going to work.  It will be evident in short order.

Now, is it risky for KC to sign Dawaan Taylor, a career RT and ask him to play LT...yes that involves risk.  I am CERTAIN he'll pass block better than Brown did (I do not think he'll be a good run blocker no matter where you put him..KC doesn't care)

They like Morris...his tools and traits are outstanding...but he needs work.  I haven't been impressed by Niang the rare times he's actually been healthy....and I DO NOT believe Darrian Kinnard is an NFL OT.  This left KC thin at OT...but the were every bit as thin last year.  I am also CERTAIN that Andrew Wiley was not a good pass blocking RT.  He did an admirable job starting all 17 games.  He was a great and versatile backup that did the best he could..and will always be loved in KC..but he was not good either.

I would tell you that as we sit here today...KC is BETTER at OT...by a good margin...than they were last year.

I won't be surprised if Smith starts, or Morris wins the job.

After signing Smith.....who they didn't have at the time they signed Taylor, they've decided to just keep Taylor on the right side.  Before that signing, he was going to be on the left side.  Paying Taylor that money and keeping him on the right is fine.  Ramczyk got more fully guaranteed than Taylor (43m to 40) and just as much in total guarantees (60m). Lane makes more per year. McGlinchey got 5 less fully guaranteed and 7.5 less total. It's a RT market deal, in an NFL where the difference between the right and left tackle isn't what it used to be.

I remain confident their O line is better than last years.

Who’s worse now?  Brown/wylie or smith/taylor? Taylor might be the worst RT in the league.  I’d rather pay David Quessenberry 10M per year than pay Taylor 20M.

22.8 ppg…… before this beating at the hands of the raiders D.  Down from a league leading 29.2

How’s that young WR unit working out?  Rice looks great.  Toney and Moore on par with Juwaanawoman Taylor.  Just awful.

The inferior (to the chiefs) Bills OL and WRs certainly aren’t looking inferior to KC in December.  Or maybe they are inferior…..and Josh allen is just a better QB.

I mean we did try and tell them.... that fanbase had an irrational hatred for Orlando Brown. At one point they were telling us Taylor would be a better left tackle than Brown.

In fairness Taylor has been worse at RT than I expected. But LT I knew they were going to suck.

This is nothing compared to Zerovoltz starting a thread talking about the Bills need worse receivers because the Chiefs won a SB without them(not realizing how important a do-everything-well receiver who caught nearly 80% of targets Juju Smith-Schuster was for them).

You can always tell that someone has no clue about talent evaluation when part of their description of a player is "he can't be worse than" so-and-so.

Common sense could tell you that Brown was better than Taylor.   Common sense could tell you Smith was washed.

In fairness,  we had a lot of people claiming Sherfield and Sharty were big upgrades over what the Bills got rid of...........and as I said then.......the truth was always that Crowder and McKenzie clearly had been better NFL players in their careers.    Sherfield and Harty weren't actually likely to be more productive players.    Sure enough, Crowder and McKenzie put up 500 yards in 2022........and the Bills have only gotten 200 from Sherfield and Sharty.

Sherfield wasn’t an attempt to replace Crowder.  He was an attempt to replace Kumerow on ST.  Network doesn’t show enough for me to tell; how successful was that? Gunners don’t show too much on the stat sheet.  I don’t think there’s a lot of question Sherfield >> Kumerow as a receiver.  (Yes I said that at the time of the signing, I have the receipts)

Beane explicitly said they saw Harty as slotting into their #4/5 WR role.  In 2021, when that was McKenzie’s role, he racked up a mighty 20 receptions for 178 yards in 24% of the offensive snaps.  Superficially, Harty has not done vast well with 14 receptions for 138 yds, but he’s only seen the field for 15% of the snaps.

As far as #3 WR, the Bills plan was to have Kincaid factor in with more 2 TE sets, and also to have Shakir step up.   Since Shakir has put up 460+ yds and Kincaid 500+, Shakir has been rocking 48% of the offensive snaps vs. 54% McKenzie had last year.  So it’s a reasonable case that Shakir has had about the same productivity as McKenzie.

PS as far as your points about the silliness of claiming the Bills need worse WR a la Zerovoltz you’re right on that of course

You are going off the rails a bit here, Hap.   Kincaid has basically the same yards per game as Knox had last year.  That's who he's replaced in the pecking order in 2023.   Shakir replaces the Crowder/McKenzie/Beasley in the slot.    But it's not as simple as that.   Diggs production is way down.   Davis is also down.    If you want to play that game you will go in circles because things have changed.   In part because Sherfield and Harty have not played to expectations.

So what we do know is that the Bills switched out veterans Crowder, McKenzie(and Kumerow if you wish) and brought in veterans Sherfield and Harty.........to some degree of fanfare......not just as special teams players and blockers.  And in Harty's case for significantly more money invested.

I mean, Sherfield didn't quit his job as the clear-cut WR3 in Miami to get paid near minimum wage to replace Kumerow as a 5th or 6th WR.

He thought it was a better opportunity to advance his career with the Bills because they had a weaker 1-2 combo than the target hogging stud 1-2 Hill/Waddle grouping in Miami.    He might have even thought he could compete with Davis.........where he could not with either Hill and Waddle.

What Sherfield found out is that having 2 studs in Miami actually provided him MORE opportunity.    They draw a lot of attention.  The Bills lack of a consistent WR2 type weapon has allowed defense's to distribute their attention more proportionately after Diggs.

Where Kincaid fits into the equation at the time of the Sherfield and Sharty signings?    He did not exist in them.

Because they had no idea they were going to have Kincaid.   In fact, most of the chatter/info was that WR was their hope to acquire in round 1........and they just pivoted with the WR's gone and Kincaid on the board.
