I must say my sister owns several peacock and the great Flannery O'Connor did as well. I'll have to ask sister if they are as annoying as you say. Haha and I also am sad of the way the world is shifting from long form meaningful content to tiny bleh "easy to consume" bleh. 2 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I would hazard an unqualified opinion that only one major redo of a team's uniform worked in the modern NFL. That would be Tampa Bay. Quote
MPL Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I am of the belief that the late 80s/early 90s were the peak of NFL uniforms. I feel very strongly that every team's best uniform existed in this era... The Bills' red helmets and royal blue jerseys Denver's blue helmet and orange jerseys The Seahawks' silver and royal blue The Eagles' kelly green and silver Tampa's creamsicles New England's white and red San Diego's navy blue on navy blue (yeah, I actually like these better than white helmet and powder blues) The Giants' navy blue helmet and royal blue jerseys The Rams' royal blue and yellow Houston's white and light blue The Jaguars and their uniform abominations not yet existing Then again, this is the era of football I grew up with, which is probably why I'm partial toward these uniforms. 1 1 1 1 Quote
EasternOHBillsFan Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 (edited) I COMPLETELY disagree with the Jets in the not traditional column... their uniform today is MUCH closer to their AFL one than the one they wore when I was growing up in the 80s/early 90s. https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/a-timeline-of-the-jets-uniforms-through-the-seasons Edited May 5, 2023 by EasternOHBillsFan Quote

T master Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I like the Red uni's as the alternative & wouldn't mind seeing them more especially at the end of the year or in the play offs if the Bills have home field because like in the Snovertime game against indy the Bills having the Red uni's was a god send they will always be able to be seen better than the Blue & especially better than the whites . But i like all of the Bills uni's all Whites are sharp Not to keen on the all Blues but white top Blue bottom or visa versa are cool !! Quote

UConn James Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Minor nitpicks against the current unis. The biggest by far is the black outlines. There’s really NO need in the age of HDTV. The red jerseys do not have black outlines. Several teams have gotten rid of such dark outlines for the better. They appeared when the stadium exterior was painted black… crossing fingers 🤞that maybe when we move into the new stadium, that can be remedied. Awaiting an announcement for the red helmets. Now that we have 17 and likely to be 18 games in the next CBA, an additional set seems fine without diluting the primary. A few teams have yet to do reveals of uni sets that we’ve heard things about since the one-shell rule ended last June, but it was either too late to do something or the supply chain had issues. Seattle, LA Rams, Tampa Bay, Titans teased an Oilers throwback this past week. We’ll see if they fill these doldrums of the year b/w schedule release and training camp with some uni reveals. Quote

Minor note it is actual the dark blue from the 2000s not black. When they did the release in 2011 they had that as a detail. Still it looks black and really doesn’t fit 1 Quote
JAMIEBUF12 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I have no problem with the 90’s unis as a throwback, but absolutely love the current uniforms.I think they are the classiest in all of football. 3 Quote

See this is where all the uniform stuff shows it’s very subjective (and ridiculous when people argue in absolutes about uniforms)-I think Denver’s current uniform is a million times better than the old one, I like Seattle’s current one better, i feel Tampa and New England’s old unis are terrible… some I agree with you on, others I would change Quote

Don Otreply Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 The reality here is that the “league” wants uniformity, same jerseys outside of team colors and logo, it’s the McDonalds theory, in which you know what you’re going to get no matter what location the store is in, or in this case, what NFL City the team is in. It shows a severe need to control, and a severe lack of imagination, jmo. Quote

If you think about it minor changes don't force change, but get brand new unis and you may get more fans to buy them. If you win in said unis even if they suck in appearance it definitely becomes a bigger sell. Quote
