97 mph IS reckless, but in semi-fairness, I’ve traveled at 90+ mph here in Florida and wasn’t passing anyone. Much wider lanes than NY and traveling fast is typical on highways.

That said, 80-85 is pretty standard on 95 in these parts. If you're under 70 you're in danger.
