Quality addition. A bit surprised they didn't push for a 2 year deal so we have someone under contract leading to next season at DT. Perhaps they did and Poona pushed for a "prove it" style. We will never likely know.

All the people pushing to trade Ed Oliver...

What kind of return do you think the Bills can get?

Pennies on the dollar for the expiring contract. 1 year of solid Ed play is worth hanging on to him IMO. And maybe we sign a deal with him in the meantime.

Beane would be foolish to say anything other than that.....he's not going to indicate he wants to trade a specific player

He's brought up wanting to re-sign him unsolicited. While there's sense in what you're saying in a vacuum - the concept doesn't make sense.

Why would we voluntarily make ourselves worse at the position? If he's as expendable as many make him out to be, why would a team give up a Draft pick, 10m in cap space, and no guarantee they have him beyond one year?

Ed Oliver was never going anywhere and especially not now. Post Draft with teams having filled their needs and low on funds.

And this is why you don't spend a first round pick on defensive tackles, unless they are Jeffrey Simmons, Chris Jones or Aaron Donald.

Never happening.

Wasn't happening during the Draft. Isn't happening now. This is a fan made up idea like Edmunds was last year.

Anytime he's brought up around Beane he talks about wanting to re-sign him. He'll either get extended before the year or he'll be a FA after this season. But he's "definitely" not going anywhere.

He's our best 3T and there isn't a better one available out there. Teams don't trade for guys with 1 year left on their contract with a 10m cap hit.

Anything is possible in the NFL. But you're living in a fantasy world thinking it's a definite.

Sign him then.

This feels like the lead up to Nuk becoming a Bill.

Genuinely asking, why do you feel that way? Seems like this is a defensive player that the Bills had their eye on since the early stages of free agency. Either way I like the deal.

Speedy athletic attacking linebackers make A LOT of sense behind a DT room consisting of Daquan Jones and Poona Ford.

What a homerun of a signing!!  Let's gooo!!

Floyd / Ingram / Ngakoue / Houston / Quinn

Is it too greedy that I want 2 of the above players (Ingram for sure)

not greedy at all!  I want Houston for sure.  Still high level despite his age.  Houston and Ingram would be insane.

The problem is that the Bills (from what I've heard and read) typically only keep 4 DT's on the roster.  Moving Oliver anytime soon would be a bad move if any of the 4 DT's currently on the roster know that.  Hopefully they add another DT to compete with the 5 they now have unless they can get something amazing for Oliver right now.
