DCofNC Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Solid “Meh”, hopefully the raw physical skills can translate w McDermott coaching him up. Quote

Ralonzo Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Not specifically mentioned in the thread is Austin declared as a red-shirt junior, which is another Beane tendency. And that's the bottom line, because Ralonzo said so. 1 Quote

billsfan89 Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Seems like a solid late round pick, one place on the roster where I trust McBeane’s evaluations are the secondary. The team needed some help on the back end of the CB room and they got a player to develop. 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 McD has turned these late-round defensive backs into starters pretty consistently. Dane, Levi, Hamlin, Benford. Even Wildgoose was poached and became a starter for the Redskins. Quote

Well, we will just have to see how he plays when the games start. 2 hours ago, GreggTX said: I do like that he can hit tho. Since he's slow, maybe they move him inside. Hmmm. Maybe!! Quote

With UDFAs player/agent chooses and often the player will get a 3 round allowing player to go to free agency early if play warranted. Either that or Lightning is terrible at satire. Add to that agents will tend to steer UDFA towards weaker teams as player then has better chance to make roster, so Bills aren't getting the cream of the crop. Player drafted typically will get bigger contract and bigger signing bonus and teams will more try to hang onto the guy. Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 His skillset and physicality seems to point to him being a safety in the NFL. He's at his best when he can face the qb and react. 2 1 Quote

Are we sure he's slow? 1 hour ago, TheBrownBear said: Good trash talk and celebration skills The consensus among most talent evaluators are that his celebration skills are indeed elite. However NFL.com had him 73rd in trash talking for a cornerback so you might want to reconsider that statement. Too often people here assume someone with celebration skills are also great trash talkers. That belief is just an oversimplification by those (and it seems to be a growing number) who view the world through a binary lens and can't differentiate the complexity in our world. 3 1 Quote

Bill from NYC Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Great pick, and I am serious. I'm very happy that they thought that this kid was good enough (or had enough potential) to take a chance on. Not all corners have to be first round picks and if he develops it will be a complete win for the franchise. 1 Quote
