whats the point of trading. we are getting to basically crap.  Just get a player you think is good and roll with it.

This should be their late draft strategy every year.  Throw a bunch of picks at the wall and hope something sticks.  The odds that any one particular late round pick is going to make it isn't good,  so take more chances at it.

My hope is they use them and don't impulsively trade them away like candy.

if they are legit tapped out of players on their board or close I’d go for another pick next year

It does but not what Beane did. All he did was get a 7th this year who won't make the team and a 6th next year. Dumb. If he swapped a 6th now for a 5th next year that would have been ok.

Nobody is makin that trade. #205 is worth 7.8 per the JJ chart. The middle of the 6th (which is what teams looking at future value would use.... the middle of the 5th, discounted by for a future pick) is 12.6.

Zach Kuntz? Another tight end could make sense.

Guys left they met with:

Nick Broecker G Ole Miss

Christian Young DB Arizona

Justin Marshall WR Buffalo

Eric Hallett DB Pittsburgh

Sean Tucker RB Syracuse

Well out of all those guys, Hallett is gone. Who knew?

The chances are pretty high that whoever they were going to pick at 205 they will still pick at 215. If that is or is not the case we will likely never know.

I can't take issue with this trade just yet. One of these players need to turn into at least solid depth guy in the next two years tho. Don't just make moves to make moves and that's not what I'm accusing Beane of doing, but what his actions are saying here is that there is a nice pool of talent that he wants more cracks at. Unless you produce results, all these moves just look plain stupid.

I wonder if the Bills had their eye on that safety Jerrick NewBalance-Converse the Jets grabbed the pick before?

As noted earlier,  JBC was the victim of that long bomb to Shorter versus LSU.    Considering the huge cushion and JBC's 4.4 speed it gives a nice perspective on how Shorter can run by a player on a long route who is certainly quicker in a shorter space.

Good chance Houston's 6th will be near the top of the round.

That makes sense this late in the draft to trade for next year.

Yeah, yeah, I just want Ojomo. Hope he's still there at 215.

In truth, it was a good move. Initial reaction was lacking the context of what we received.
