IMO, that makes Kincaid at least a 1a. and not a #2 which was the point I was objecting to in the original post I quoted. We drafted Kincaid to be a 80-100 reception TE. That is a #1 TE in my book. Knox's career highs in receptions are 48 and 49. Hey if we can get Kincaid enough targets to get that many receptions, then great. I don't see how we get Knox, Diggs, Davis, our RB's, and whoever is in the slots targets and still get Kincaid that many receptions though. Just a lot of mouths to feed. I was just saying he is going to get most his production playing more like a WR than a TE is all. 1 Quote

Bills tried to get him that last year in offseason with Howard. And we’re connected to TEs at deadline. his offense was hampered because there was not a second viable TE on this team. And that Hurt so much like the running game as well because teams just stayed in Base. Hence at end of season trotting out Bobby Hart at TE2 to counter the constant Base 2 2 Quote

But...my thing with Dorsey is last year he failed to utilize our RB's as pass catchers despite Beane drafting one in the 2nd and trading for one in Hines mid season. He also failed to get Knox more involved when we needed help as our slot production was hurting the offense. And with the slot position under performing, he didn't really try and get Shakir more involved either despite some positive flashes. That for me was the biggest area he needed to grow into year 2 at...utilizing our personnel more effectively and more regularly in the offense. So fingers crossed he finds ways to get all these guys touches. Lets not forget about Sherfield, Shakir, and Harty too...these guys can potentially bring a lot to the offense. And we still need to get the run game more involved too so its not all on Josh Allen. I would feel a lot better if we had a more proven OC, but hey, it was just his first year, hoping he takes a big step this year as an OC. Because he also needs to be better in the redzone and in game adjustments. 1 Quote
Gunsgoodtime Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Considering the way yhe draft board fell, I am very happy with Kincaide, just hate they used a 4th to move up Quote

That’s fair - and if all those concerns continue to play out, 1) that’s not on Beane or the DK pick, and 2) Dorsey will be looking for a new job. I am willing to give Dorsey some rope for some of those deficiencies last year as it was his first year in that job. Nothing really left to do but wait and see though. 1 Quote

One of things you need to realize at mlb though is: they haven’t given up on Bernard, even if a lot of us have forgotten about him since he didn’t play. They have their bets on him hedged with bringing back dodson and klein but I think they think Bernard has a real chance to develop into something. They will absolutely give him a chance and I wouldn’t expect an early rd (day 2) pick for LB. More offensive line help? Absolutely throw it on me. They can take 3 OLs in a row if the value’s there go ahead. I’d bet DT next but I’m good with Oline too. Give us all the big uglies. 1 Quote

Too Diggs centric. Knox targets will stay about the same or decrease by a small amount. Need the RB's to see more targets though. For his rookie year I would not expect 80-100 receptions. But 50+ out the gate for Kincaid would be nice. 1 Quote

Come week 1 I’ll be amped. This time of year, still coming off last season and haven’t seen any new looks yet as camp hasn’t started. Truth is, Dorsey has several new toys, not just Kincaid. I think Sherfield and Harry are nice additions and hoping Shakir is ready to take over the slot. We could also still draft a WR too 1 Quote

They thought they could get by with Howard and that didn’t work out. I really think a lot of people will be singing Dorsey’s praises this year IF Kincaid can come in and just flash enough as a Rookie and give them a legit 12 personnel package Quote

I chalk a lot of it up to the Jets and Dolphins defenses improving We played a more difficult defensive schedule in 2022 than 2021 w similar results Quote
