WhoTom Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Next up: the Bears will threaten to move to Gary Indiana to avoid the ticket tax. It's a business, right? 1 Quote
LeviF Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 $3 a ticket? To pay hundreds of millions? If it’s just $200M it’ll still take over 100 years at that rate. Hope they have other plans. Quote
BillsVet Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 If the city did not insert language in the contract that the Bears would be on the hook for remaining stadium debt costs should they move before paid off, then the city did it wrong. Chicago is an absolute mess right now and I'm not getting in to that. The team is re-locating because this situation has become untenable and contractually it appears as though they are not obligated to pay off this debt. Fans should not have to pay for the city's incompetence. 2 Quote
wppete Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Everything about that city is a mess. When are the Bears leaving Chicago? Quote

I live about 90 miles from The Loop and I have no qualms about going into the city. Been there many times and enjoyed my visits. Like any city, there are places that should be avoided, but I've never felt unsafe in downtown Chicago. 1 1 1 5 2 1 Quote

My quick and dirty calculations assumed 65k seats and sold out every game. Quote

DCofNC Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 It shows they know how much Chicago sucks, only $3? TicketMaster adds $50 and it doesn’t stop people. Quote

Giuseppe Tognarelli Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Might as well increase prices by $3. It's so funny how people consider taxes somehow different than the actual price when the money leaves you just the same. 1 1 Quote
