Which NFL player did you think was going to be good but turned out to be a bust?

Of Bills players they drafted… Sammy Watkins I’m the first to admit after watching him beat Ohio State himself I thought The Bills had a true once every 5 years kinda receiver. Didn’t work out that way.

The league… there’s been so many but I’d go with Peter Warwick from Florida State for people old enough to remember him.

I was excited about Watkins and I wanted him.

What's sad is he clearly has the physical tools to be really good. He just doesn't have it between the ears. Not that he isn't smart, but he is strange, and doesn't have that drive and determination to be great.

Easier to look at Bills, a guy that stands out is James Hardy. I thought he was exactly what we needed at the time and he was out of the league in about 5 seconds. I know a lot of people liked him on here as well.

Mike Williams,  everyone said he would start at Left Tackle for a decade.

Funny thing about guys drafted in the 1st round named Mike Williams...

That said, I was glad we got him rather than Bryant McKinnie.

Malcolm Kelly

Seems like there was a run of tall, slender receivers that were busts. Malcom Kelly and his legendary freestyle, James Hardy, Limas Sweed…probably more

He couldn’t stay healthy.  When he was on the field, he produced.

Definitely injury prone. But still, outside of his first two years in Buffalo he produced at a pretty low level even in the games he started. In 2017 and 2019 playing in high powered Rams and Chiefs offenses respectively he started 14 and 13 games but would not have even come close to 1000 yard seasons in either had he played the entire season in either.

I thought Aaron Curry was going to be the best in his draft class. I expected he would have a 10+ year career with some pro bowls appearances and all-pro selections.
