Yet here we are with non stop advertising for sports books. It’s sad, I’m watching good friends blow money they don’t have on this. At least when they had to go to the off track wagering or bookie, it limited how often they would gamble. Now they’ll gamble on literally anything all the time, it’s pretty wild to watch. The NFL does not seem to realize that the long-term effects of tying their business so closely to the gambling industry may not serve to maximize their profits and might possibly cause their massive money-making enterprise to crumble someday. pi2000 Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Gambling is why there were never any pro teams in Vegas. That's changed obviously as the league is now in bed with major gambling franchises.... simply too much money to be made. That said, I agree with the swift and severe punishment for any player who bets on the league that employees them.... this is basically insider trading, and players should continue to face severe discipline for such infractions. Players need to abide by the rules and regulations set by the NFL to maintain the integrity of the game. They offer a variety of slot games that you can play online without breaking any rules or regulations. Remember to always gamble responsibly and never bet more than you can afford to lose. Let's hope these players learn their lesson and come back stronger after their suspensions. Quote

They are in bed with the gambling industry - their profits are greatly enhanced by people gambling on their games - yet feel they can act surprised when issues like this crop up. Its being done for the same reason employees who work for publicly traded companies arent allowed to sell off stocks if they have knowledge of an impending dip. It makes complete sense for the NFL to come down hard on these players. You can bet on just about anything these days, just dont poo where you eat. Not a lot to ask for at will employees who are paid handsomely to follow the rules set forth for them. If the team or NFL has rule regarding not betting on other leagues in an NFL facility, just follow it. Hypocrisy or not, the team signs your paycheck. You're an employee.
