Poor Ron DeSantis can't win for losing. And Ron is left twisting in the Florida wind, outflanked by Pence and his religious right fellow travelers on the anti-abortion stance, and by Trump to his left. 1

That still won’t help Trump in the general. Conald cannot be trusted - with anything.

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 part of trumps interview on MTP this weekend covered abortion… he took a moderate position. Effectively said 70% of people think it’s a necessary evil but shouldn’t be allowed after a certain time, tossed out 15 weeks as a starting point to be negotiated and understood exceptions. don’t know if it’s a new platform tactic or his view. while life at conception and kill ‘em in the fourth trimester extremes won’t like it, it sounded reasonable. Yes, politicians aren’t allowed to actually work that way in DC, but it sounded nice anyway. the new anchor was fuming at the message and kept trying to re-narrate him to banning language. she hated the answer because it sounded so damn reasonable 1 1

So then he does have the basic qualification to be a politician after all! 😂 Also I don’t give a ***** what he believes or doesn’t, all I’m saying is he articulated a pretty reasonable perspective on the topic, one that I believe is an overwhelming majority position. 1

Some blame RBG for not stepping down when a dem could have nominated another dem. even she knew it was very shaky. And at the end of the day. it was a Shady funded PAC that fought the 15 week limit and took row to the supreme court.

I’m sure more that two thirds of the country would agree to something in the middle codify it into law and we could call it a day. I’ve rarely heard the Don say something I can agree with like this, but that should be the position we all demand, so the pols can stop hiding behind these polarizing extremes and actually do some real work. 2

ITs America. we don't agree on anything:) and PACS "poison pill" any debate on this topic, for whatever reason. 16 weeks? 20? I think most reasonable people would find some compromise. But if Row was already Ruled as a state's issue, how would they codify it, without it running into the same issue. And a pet peeve. Why would or are we even considering calling medical procedures like ectopic pregnancy, an abortion. Seems like this would be low hanging fruit to fix. Same with children/women that are pregnant by rape or *****. It shouldn't even be a debate. but also believe law enforcement needs to be involved. (Predators don't stop till someone/something stops them)

BillStime Posted September 20, 2023 Author Posted September 20, 2023 Love how these idiots keep creating campaign ads for Biden
Tiberius Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Quote In just the last week, Donald Trump called Florida’s six-week abortion ban “terrible,” refused to endorse national restrictions, blamed abortion opponents for Republicans’ 2022 election disappointments and pledged to compromise with Democrats on the issue if elected. Anti-abortion groups can’t agree on what to do about it. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/09/21/trump-anti-abortion-groups-00117260 He packed the court with corrupt anti-abortion clowns and now wants nothing to do with what he created 1

Most other politicians feel the need to at least somewhat rationalize/explain their changes in core positions. Trump moved from being "very pro choice" c. 2000 to America's leading pro-life/anti-abortion champion c. 2016. Fools like Ron DeSantis thought they'd outflank him on the pro-life side. Now that Trump (through his Supreme Court appointments, abetted by Mitch McConnell's chicanery) got Roe overturned, he'd be out there with the almost total abortion ban in Florida. What could go wrong? He forgot that he's dealing with an opponent with absolutely no qualms, no need to even pretend that his positions are consistent. Trump gets the everlasting support of a lot of anti-abortion types for finally getting Roe off the books, but he's not about to let himself get stuck with an unpopular general election position. 1 1
