I assume it’ll be a court martial proceeding. Which is likely to be a whole lot worse.

So who was the leaker who had access to this top secret briefing? Apparently it was a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman named Jack Teixeira. So many people–including me–are asking, how in the world did this kid have access to a top-secret intelligence briefing?

 

The New York Post offers several possible answers to this question, none of which is satisfactory:

The Pentagon regularly issues security clearances to troops as young as 18.
***
Cyber transport systems journeymen can require higher clearance levels.
***
His unit may have required access to foreign intelligence.
***
The military runs on the backs of young people.
***
The Pentagon has previously activated National Guard units to support Ukraine war efforts.

 

All well and good, but those factors don’t begin to explain why an undistinguished 21-year-old National Guardsman has access to documents that, if leaked, will have international repercussions on multiple fronts. Likely this reflects the general degradation of our military and intelligence branches, as wokism has replaced national security as a guiding principle.

 

I suspect, too, that the wanton over-classification of information and documents that has prevailed for a long time may be a factor. It seems that just about every piece of paper produced by our government–and there are a great many of them–is confidential, while lots of them are secret and an astonishing number, mostly boring and irrelevant, are “top secret.” The effect of this over-classification is that “top secret” documents are not limited to a handful of senior officials, but rather, must be shared with a large number of underlings, whose loyalties are entirely unknown, in order for the government to function.

The Liberal Media's Narrative on the Intel Leaker Already Got Torched...By the NYT?

The liberal media could go off on their anticipated narrative about the Pentagon leaker, but The New York Times has already somewhat undercut the scheme, though the damning paragraph was buried deep in their piece about the suspect. Spencer wrote about the arrest and subsequent press conferences from Attorney General Merrick Garland and Air Force Brigadier Gen. Pat Ryder about the breach. The alleged leaker is a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman, Jack Douglas Teixeira, a Massachusetts resident. 

 

The initial Times piece, which has been scrubbed, mentioned Mr. Teixeira’s involvement in an online gaming chat group called Thug Shaker Central, which allegedly posted content about their affinity for firearms, other video games, and racist memes. There’s the fuse: white guy, love of guns, and racist memes. The right-wing extremism seeds were planted and spread by other outlets that cited the initial reporting.

The documents Teixeira uploaded were summaries of our intelligence operations into the Russian war machine, which evidently were successful, siphoning that information and relaying it to Ukrainian forces.

And so the truth (as we know it so far) is far more boring, stupid, and Gen Z-ish than anyone  could have imagined.

- 21 year old loser, still playing video games constantly, probably no female friends (much less a girlfriend), trying to impress teenage boy gamers (repressed, umm, something)

- little bit of training, like your khaki pants tech guy at the office, gives him access to all sorts of stuff he shouldn't be seeing

- inflated opinion of his ordinary at best intelligence, a little bit of (small) mind warping by right-wingy racist nonsense

And there you have it. A National Security scandal for the 2020s.

Pentagon Leak Suspect Jack Teixeira Charged With Unauthorized Retention, Transmission of Defense Information

 

 

Jack Teixeira, the 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman arrested on Thursday in connection with leaked Pentagon documents, was arraigned on Friday and charged with:

 

1. Unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information; and
2. Unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material.

 

Teixeira’s arrest raises far more questions than it answers.

 

That story changed markedly through the day, though, and the sparse information we have about Teixeira raised major questions about how he could have possibly had access to such a wide-ranging tranche of information, why what was finally reported as the true story was so different from what had been published earlier, and who was pushing the disinformation?

That's easy.  If that was the case then voice after voice would be issuing warnings that the entire "community" is under attack and being put in danger by "his" arrest.  And we'd have absolutely no information or explanation about motive or ideology.  Judgement of everyone is now based on the social credit score of the perpetrator following rules for physical and social attributes that determine the specific position of the persons spot on the oppressor/oppressed woke scorecard.  This fool obviously checks off lots of boxes on the oppressor side of the ledger so there will be no mercy in the press or the courts.

It ain't nothing though. American military being deployed to a war zone is something. What branch of our government approved of the US being involved in this special NATO force?
