They could still draft a guy in the mid-later rounds. Beane and McDermott are all about competition. That's true. And Murray could always fill that Duke Johnson Practice Squad vet RB role and I think he'd be a good fit there.
starrymessenger
Like many others, I've always liked LM and as recently as last year he showed that he could still play. I like the direction the Bills have taken so far for the offense this off-season.

GustheDog33
Murray attended Onondaga High School and was Gatorade Football Player of the Year in NY in 2007. He spoke at an event I attended a few years ago. He seems like great guy and a hard runner.

He keeps saying that Edmunds' replacement is on the roster and we haven't signed anyone new at LB, so that screams that we'll take a linebacker in the 1st or 2nd. Please share a link confirming Beane actually said " Edmunds replacement is on the roster ". I DID read that Dodson,Bernard and Spector, maybe even Matakevich, would COMPETE for the job. But that doesnt mean Beane won't sign or draft a LB. Ridiculous to think he would limit his draft options by believing that. Perhaps a smoke screen to fool the gullible? Perhaps so they don't need to waste a draft pick on one? Vet minimum contract for him would likely qualify at a lower cap hit under the NFL's salary cap agreement as a vested vet. Didn't Beane sign like 5 or 6 OL UFA's last year? Did you simply forget about that or were you missing last offseason?
Mister Defense
I didn't realize how well he played last year, as a 32 year old running back--in 12 games rushing for 703 yards!, with 6 touchdowns, 4.4 yards per carry, and 26 receptions too. Those are very good stats for any back, let alone one in his early 30s. And throw in the fact that he was behind center with one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL, Russel Wilson, and it is more impressive. This is the kind of inexpensive veteran I want on this team. Edited April 13, 2023 by Mister Defense
JohnBonhamRocks
Murray was solid last year. Enough that he was one of my back-up fantasy RBs… like Mister Defense said… on the Broncos! I think Murray is going to be a great new starting ILB for us.

brianthomas
Imagine 4 NFL quality rb's on this team, only to not run the ball this year. Sign me up! If Murray wants to come here for veteran minimum than come join the party i guess. But he's not going to give us much of anything we dont already have. For a team that doesnt even run much, getting Murray wont move that needle at all. Would it hurt? No not really. Could it help? Sure. Remains to be seen if we can run the ball at all... or if we'll even try. PS: i dont mean this to sound negative, just one of those days lol Edited April 13, 2023 by brianthomas

Short Yardage. Pass Block. Goal line. Then mix & match so the defense is kept off balance Edited April 13, 2023 by Warriorspikes51
