other than QB, i guess you can justify bills need to improve the roster at every position. especially if you start worrying about 2024

with Phillips’ re-signing, that gives the Bills eight defensive tackles currently under contract. Top four are  Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle and Phillips.

is DT a need ahead of OL, WR2, TE2, MLB ?

not for my money, at least not until day 3

Beane reads.

Beane's brain processes as:

"Yes!  Draft anyone over 185 who can get in the backfield so fast, the opposition gains 15 yards up the middle..."

Sure, if McDermott intends to completely change the defensive scheme (4-2-5) he's used for over 10 years.   If he's sticking with what he's used very successfully for over 10 years , then no, we are not interested in a true 3-4 NT.   I think we know which of these is the case.

Next.

How much difference is there between a 3-4 Nose Tackle and a 1-technique in a four-man front?

When the OP says, "Nose Tackle," I think he means 1-tech.
