The Avenger Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 When A Stranger Calls (the original - I believe there was a remake) "Have you checked the children?" For a second Brian Dennehy was the scariest thing on the planet... Quote
T&C Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I don't think it is the scariest but Eraserhead had a lot of creep to it... maybe it's up there, idk.. Quote

That movie unnerved me enough I haven't wanted to watch it again since - and I saw it when it first came out in 1997. First thing that came to mind. My dad rented it for us thinking it was a scifi movie. I was 9 and not prepared for what I was about to see. Quote
Don Otreply Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I enjoyed the “Shining” Jack Nicholson was perfect for the part, Quote
wnyguy Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 All horror movies pale in comparison to The Exorcist. Quote
May Day 10 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 For me, it is/was Poltergeist. Scared the living daylights out of me as a kid. As far as slasher films. Terrifier and Terrifier 2. Insidious is great. As mentioned a lot. Hereditary is one of the best horror movies made. Maybe not so much 'scary'... but, just how everything unfolded. Quote
Wacka Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black (1975). It was made for TV movie with three short stories, all starring her. The best one was the third one where a voodoo doll attacks her. Although I was 18, I looked at the baseboards for months afterwards, expecting the voodoo doll to jump out of the darkness. 1 Quote

TheCockSportif Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 The original "Halloween" or "Friday the 13th" were super, super scary. Now I just kinda cringe at reality tv, you know, me not watching tv that much anymore. Quote
Wooderson Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Event Horizon Hereditary The Omen (I was like 10 when I saw the original and it freaked me out) Quote
SinceThe70s Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 This one looked so scary that I didn't have the stones to watch it. 1 Quote
