I'm curious which way most of the people on this board "lean". I find it interesting that at most sporting events I've watched that the POTUS show up at.... Democrats are boo'ed and Republicans are cheered. Was wondering if that's something unique to us 'sports fans'.

Football, Hockey, Baseball and (especially) UFC fans seem to lean right.

NBA games may be a different story.

I haven't really seen that pattern with sports because the POTUS usually go to sporting events in cities that are more favorable to them. Trump got booed pretty heavily at a Washington Nationals World Series game if I remember correctly and Obama would get ovations to the more liberal cities he'd go to.

I don't think sports fans in general lean one way, it really just depends on the region it's in.

I'm Independent but my beliefs lean more liberal. I don't believe the Democrat Party reflects classical liberal values. I also don't believe the Republican Party reflects actual classical conservative values.

I'm honestly weary of anyone who pledges some kind of allegiance to either party. Both are incredibly corrupt and do not care about the people.

Conservative.

.

I just put down parties, instead of ideologies. Would have a huge list if I just did it that way... but I'm with ya. I'm actually probably more conservative/libertarian than GOP.

I picked Republican, because as of right now, that’s the only way I’ll vote.

Otherwise, I’m simply abstaining.

But make no mistake, McConnell/Graham types do not represent many of my views much at all.

Isn't it problematic though that you're already tuning out everyone else and voting for one side automatically? I think that's part of the dysfunction of politics.

I try to pick the best person regardless of party affiliation. When I lived in New Hampshire I voted for Chris Sununu even though he's Republican because he's closer to the Center and has done positive work. Those people are few and far between, I wouldn't disagree with that, but they are out there.

Ten years ago, sure.

Now, no.

There are some things I disagree with the Republicans on, but I can live with them.

I can’t say the same about the pillars of the Democratic Party any longer..  Abortion (there isn’t even room for compromise on this issue with them), online censorship, their social agenda and, as a business owner, tax policy.

Perhaps I could’ve supported a moderate Dem, pre-covid, but even moderate Dems demonized those like me and forced lockdowns and mandates when faced with a crisis.

The Dem reaction to covid pretty much ruled out me voting D for a long time.   I very much enjoy living in a red state and do not want to ever jeopardize that.

I chose R, but am mostly libertarian. That’s not realistic these days so R it is. In the past I might have chosen Independent. However, that means I’d at least give some consideration to the Democrat candidate. After 2016 campaign coupled with Covid and BLM riots , I doubt I ever will again.

I agree , SC. I think the party would do better without their kind. They needlessly lose some folks.

whenever I use to take those “which politician most closely aligns with your beliefs?” quizzes online about 10-15 years ago, I’d always get Rand Paul.  My views probably haven’t changed TOO much since then.

Far right. Hard right. Pat Buchanan. Right wing extremist. Joseph McCarthy. Overturn Lawrence v. Texas. Repeal the Hart-Celler Act.  Shoot all border crossers. Execute gang members. Hang drug dealers. Ban smut. Restrict voting rights. Destroy oligopolies. Mandatory meat consumption.

You know i truly do not care republican or democrat it would just be nice to have someone that had the people and the country they were elected to represent as their highest concern and that they would do what is needed to be done instead of trying to make every different group happy .

There hasn't been 1 president in a very long time that has been transparent/truthful & has instilled a feeling of confidence in what they were doing or what needs doing & there have been so many behind the scene crooked dealings with countries & companies that only benefits those making the laws & not those that have to follow them .

Then there is the thing that if someone really did get elected that actually first had the balls to do what needed done & cut spending to stop the never ending process to raise the debt ceiling & made the decisions to make things better rather than pandering to those cry babies that person would be over taken by those imbedded in the gov't that has made it what it is today corrupt !!

American politics have become the every one gets a trophy gov't where there is no consequences and you get every thing you want weather you participate or not & those that don't participate or more likely to get more than those willing to work & have input into the system I know this for a fact !

Years back i know someone that was working and needed just a little help to make ends meet so they went to the local gov't to see about getting food stamps but was told they made to much money to be able to get them but they were told if they quit their job they would be able to pay them not only food stamps but rent, health care, electric, water & every other thing they needed .

That is gov't common sense at it's best so we will never see the America that was once the responsible country it use to be no matter what way we lean weather it be republican or democrat because none of them have the country or the people as their main concern if they did there would be no round up no legally prescribed opioids no cancer causing chemicals in our foods & most of the goods we use but it's easier & more profitable to leave it the same .
