DCbillsfan Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 (edited) The guy picked positions in which the Bills have open roster spots as of right now. The only spot he didn't address was TE. Not enough draft picks. It might not be in this order, but the Bills will likely pick most of these positions. Edited March 29, 2023 by DCbillsfan Quote

Shanahan's Horseshoe Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 I’d be thrilled with that other than not grabbing an OT earlier. Drew Sanders fits exactly what we want for an MLB. He’s way more athletic than Campbell and is a really good pass rusher. Young in the 3rd is a great value too. Bama DL stick around this league forever. Smith is similar to Rapp and was the heart of the UGA defense. Again, I’d rather grab a OT in the 2nd 1 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 I doubt Simmons is on the board at 27? Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 For you draftniks out there, what does Drew Sanders have that Jack Campbell doesn't? I've heard a lot of talk about Campbell, but noticed that a lot of sites have him ranked behind Sanders as the #2 MLB prospect. Yet, I dont hear much hype about Sanders. They look to be about the same size. Quote
billsfan89 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Certainly fixes the defense but this team needs to surround Josh with more talent and make due with less on defense. RT, C and WR need to be addressed in this draft with WR and RT being addressed early. Ideally I would like to get a good WR at pick 27 and a good RT at pick 59. Then go defense at pick 91 and grab a center at pick 130. Quote

Is our D line that good? 3 DT’s are free agents after this season. Epenesa is too I believe. You rather Beane spends a majority of free agent dollars on those positions next off-season? Quote

He's also very versatile, and has played nearly every position including QB. I'm personally on board with OCyrus Torrence at 27, but if Sanders or Bijan are there and they take either of them I'd be happy. But, nowadays I have enough faith in the front office that I wouldn't oppose much of what they do. Sanders would make a difference on this D. He'd prob give up some big plays too but guy is always around the ball and he hits like a hammer Quote

Freddie's Dead Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 This draft would be terrible for the Bills. Just say no to any of this bull#### Quote
jahnyc Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 I could see Keion White as a potential pick who the Bills would be interested in, but I don't think he will be available with our second round pick. Quote

Defense and defense is likely with this crew. Then you’ll get your OL or WR in round 3. Actually no, they’ll trade up at some point and waste the R3. You’ll get your OL or WR in round 4. Quote

LOL. I will survive. Seriously - we all have to remember that pre-draft and pre-season predictions are all based on the idea that a team's past performance predicts future actions. The Bills have gone defense with 2 of their top 3 picks 3 of the 5 years Beane has been here. They've used a first round pick on defense 4 of those 5 years, a 2nd round pick on defense 2 of the 4 years we've had one, and a 3rd round pick on defense 2 out of 5 years. Then, add in at this point in FA we appear to have more holes on D - MLB, DT, and DE if Miller isn't back to start the season - and the logic of pundit drafts makes sense. Now I may write impassioned posts about how it's time and past time to invest a quality pick in the WR position, but at the end of the day, It Is What It Is. Edited March 29, 2023 by Beck Water Quote

I’m just not sure a player who’s a hybrid SAM/EDGE is going to solve the middle linebacker conundrum. So catch me up here: is Sanders an MLB or more of a 3-4 OLB pass rusher/EDGE? And don't we believe McDermott when he sits in front of the media and tells us how Tyrel, Terrel, and Baylon all play the Mike and it's a good thing for us to have them in an open competition to start at MLB because they deserve a shot, it's a lot but there's a first time for everyone? 😏 https://www.buffalobills.com/video/sean-mcdermott-discusses-bills-plans-for-open-competition-to-replace-tremaine-ed Edited March 29, 2023 by Beck Water Quote

And the Bills are a year away from having no DTs under contract and probably also moving on from one or both safeties and Tre White. Doubtful Epinesa gets a second contract here so you’ve got a hole there too. Another defense-heavy draft should not be a surprise. Having a HC establishing the vision and determining roster priorities with a GM supporting personnel acquisition is showing some serious drawbacks. That is, if the roster vision is askew and the HC is under pressure to get results. The draft has to be more strategic than Buffalo handles it, as GM's tend to think long-term and less on what will help them next season...which is what a HC is focused on. An example was the 2022 draft going CB and RB to address needs in Rounds 1 and 2. I don't want to belabor that draft., yet understandable if the HC's short-term perspective has more sway over the GM's. In that way, I can see them going defense heavy again to suit oncoming needs and the HC's vision. Still disagree that loading up on that side provides more wins than does building an offense to compete with AFC Championship teams and perhaps others. 1 1 Quote
