L Ron Burgundy Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Uh oh. If legit that's gonna narrow down the options for a defense. I don't see how anyone can think this man is even remotely intelligent. He's gotta be the dumbest president in our country's short history. Can't wait for this circus to be over. CNN — Federal prosecutors have obtained an audio recording of a summer 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran, multiple sources told CNN, undercutting his argument that he declassified everything. The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. On the recording, Trump’s comments suggest he would like to share the information but he’s aware of limitations on his ability post-presidency to declassify records, two of the sources said.

Trump exposed his throat to his enemies here, likely figuring since classified docs go missing after high profile people leave office, no one says anything. The consequences are easy to see thereafter. That said, the MSM and CNN in particular have a lousy track record on news stories related to Trump. in spite of secret sources deep in the bowels of the Russia investigation, they were way behind the curve on what actually happened. When the classified files came into play, they seemed to have no idea that this sort of thing has gone on for decades with democrats and republicans alike. They missed on the IC misleading the country on the Biden laptop and the discovery of classified material at Biden’s houses just prior to thr My only question is whether it was incompetence or they deliberately fed a false narrative to an easily influenced base. Maybe this time they get it right, but I’ll wait.

The emails from Block to Trump’s campaign show in detail that many of the theories — more than a dozen in total — being pushed by Trump’s team were erroneous, and Block explains the research he conducted, the people said. Tiberius Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 That recording of Trump bragging about having documents makes it a violation of Espionage Act. That's important because then you can get a trial in DC. Easy to pick a jury there Lock him up! 2
SoCal Deek Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Ya gotta love where we’ve ‘evolved’ to in our political discourse when BOTH sides are trying to get the other side’s leading candidate arrested and imprisoned. Way to go America! 🙄 1 2

So I guess we’re gonna need to figure out whether you can be President from federal prison. 😉 We do have zoom now, so maybe it’s possible. 1

Probably. You can definitely run for President from prison since that’s already happened before. Given that the Constitution sets the criteria for running for president, any law prohibiting a president from serving while in jail would likely be unconstitutional. 1
Tiberius Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 No one should be above the law. Basically Trump supporters want immunity because he is a candidate for president. That's not how the rule of law works 1
SoCal Deek Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Think about it. In a just very few number of years we’ve gone from the almost never done impeachment, to it being done or talked about on a regular basis…to ‘lock her up’ as a campaign slogan…to actually impeaching a President, twice….to now where BOTH parties are racing to arrest each other’s leading candidate prior to the next election. It’s incredible how fast this has progressed. I can’t imagine what comes after this. It has all the trappings of an ever devolving shite show of a marriage leading up to a really nasty national divorce! 2 1
Tiberius Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Former Attorney General Bill Barr said Tuesday that he'd "bet” an indictment of Donald Trump is near. “This is not a case of the Department of Justice conducting a witch hunt,” Barr, an ex-Trump Cabinet official, said on "CBS Mornings" in reference to special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into classified documents found at the former president's private Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. "In fact, they approached this very delicately and with deference to the president," adding that if he hadn't "jerked them around for a year and a half," he thinks this would have "gone nowhere." https://themessenger.com/politics/former-ag-bill-barr-would-bet-trump-will-be-indicted 12 minutes ago, SoCal Deek said: Think about it.
