But they're in the top five in almost every category of the standardized test scores today. And I think the "catch up" by others will take a decade. 10 minutes ago, BillStime said: Congress passes election reform designed to ward off another Jan. 6 Letting everything Trump did slide would be the most shameful thing in American politics and will only invite Trump and others like him to do the same. Well, it’s helpful if your base will believe any lie you tell them. Right off the bat, the indictment states that Trump isn’t being indicted for his speech but for his actions. You look at the statutes he allegedly violated and the facts being alleged, and it’s clearly not about speech. But feelings are more important than facts. 4

Policy and personal character. I'll give up some of one of these for the other. I do reach a floor on personal character sooner. For the first time in my life I didn't cast a vote for POTUS in 2016. I felt strongly that Clinton had little to no moral or ethical character. I wasn't sure about Trump but didn't have a good feeling. In 2020 I knew I wasn't going to vote for Trump and felt I could vote for Biden if he selected a strong VP (frankly, I was concerned about his health). Kamala killed any chance of that consideration. So I passed in 2020 as well. You asked about Tim Scott. Scott is further to the right than I am but he seems to be a stand up guy. So I would consider him. I haven't written off any of the candidates on the right, at this time, with the exception of Trump. Tulsi's character impresses the shyt out of me. Her policy is pretty far the to the left, however. I'd vote for her in a heartbeat over Trump. 7 minutes ago, ChiGoose said: Well, it’s helpful if your base will believe any lie you tell them. Left out the whole Russian interference piece. Follow the motivation (money usually). Isn't that what lw enforcement investigators normally do. Btw, watching Fox for shites and giggles. Hunter, hunter, Hunter. No defense of trump charges. Very little discussion of the indictment. Host just said something like "trump being indicted for questioning the validity of the election" in passing. Talk about playbook. I wonder how many copies were sent. I honestly believe that those lies were less about Trump and more about enshrining the unitary executive belief that the president is basically a king. The idea that the president is capable of committing crimes is laughable if you believe all power is vested in the president. 1

Agreed and all of the backtracking and things that he is saying about Trump now do not change the fact that he did what he did regarding the Mueller report. I will never forgive him for that.
