Because he's getting involved in culture wars all over the place to try to boost his brand. As I've pointed out, he's even violating core Republican principles to get his name attached to anything "anti-woke." Why would I believe that he'd change course if he were in charge of the federal Department of Education?

Maybe you should watch the nationally televised interview he gave on this EXACT topic, instead of making a lot of assumptions. 😉

They do have a say. That’s what school board elections and open school board and PTA meetings are for.

Is your line in the sand for elementary school reading materials set at anal, oral, and jerking off? All appropriate?

In other words, don't live in Fla...no problem.  The country is already geographically and socioeconomically divided on political affiliation.  why not make it worse?  University towns are always a good bet.

I guess if you want your elementary school-aged children and grandchildren to have access to reading materials that at a minimum cover oral, anal, and jerking off, you’re right. I’m sure there are states that view those materials more favorably for their elementary school students. Hopefully those states allow their citizens to voice their opinions at the ballot box and school board meetings.

I'm arguing seriously and you're taking the mickey.  typical con.  but yes.  people who have the ability to choose where they'll live will choose the better places.  Unfortunately, not everyone does.

With all due respect….only to a point. The local school district is a branch of the STATE government. They simply cannot teach (or not teach) whatever they want. That is not the job of your local school board. Their primary role is to be the oversight body of your local Superintendent of Schools who works at the will of the Board.

Yes. There are some steaks, particularly a couple large ones in the southern part of our nation that are growing in population.

none of your posts argue seriously. Your thing is melodrama, non sequitur, and accusation.

These are public schools. What if the parents support their kids reading some of these books. The government makes the decision that they can’t get them at their school and implicitly tells the kids they are bad. What was your feeling on mandatory vaccines?  This is the same thing. Perhaps we should start private elementary schools for liberals.   Right now, most kids have to wait til college when they get a choice. What you are saying is that cons opinions are more highly valued than liberals or that liberals can be ignored by schools

Public education should be about learning math , science, how to actually read and write (most kids are below grade level at this sadly ) so the next generation can compete in the world. Not about learning the wonders of gay sex and mastering pronouns. There is literally no reason to have most of these books in a school library. Kids can find their own porn on their own time. Many areas can barely get students to pass and have to dumb the grading down to achieve it. Yet Libs are worried about being schooled in the ways of gay. How ridiculous, and just another reason why they should be in control of nothing . Whatever they touch rots into a pile of fecal matter.

I love a good ribeye but must admit that some of the healthiest patients I saw were liberal vegans...

Shakespeare has injured generations of kids over centuries.  Romeo and Juliet are straight characters.  btw, who the the hell are you to decide what public education should or should not include.  Have you studied education and the mechanisms of learning?  Do you have a magic 8 ball that predicts the skills and knowledge each kid will benefit from?

It's the platform he ran on. He was elected on it.

You’re right, best educate them in the ways of gay. That’s a tried and true path to success. What a knucklehead! Besides, who the €%## are you to decide anyway ?

I'm not deciding.  I think it's best to leave it up to the experts in the field.  You know, teachers and the people that teach them.  But you do you.  And while you're at it be your own doctor and lawyer.  see how that works out...why do you have a euro symbol on your keyboard?  r u a socialist?

That's the definition of "pandering."

Compromising a core principle because it helps you to win an election.

How's that different from what each and every politician does. 24/7/365?

Which then begs the question, why are you singling one and only one politician out to build this narrative for you.

Personally, I appreciate the politicians that actually follow through with what they campaigned on. I think we see too many that don't.

Will do. Recognizing your ability to argue in the “classic method” it shouldn’t take much more than 10 or 15 minutes. 🤦‍♂️🤦

in the meantime, you should reacquaint yourself with the definition of non sequitur
