BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 I just saw the contract for Harris is 1.7M, what a great signing. There is very little risk here even if he goes down with an injury, the reward seems so much higher imo. Quote
Watching since 1964 Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Locked on Bills broke down Harris’ tape, plus had the Locked on Pats host weigh in as well. Quote

Watching since 1964 Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 …or Joe Douglas’s slimmer brother. 😊 Quote
GreggTX Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 In terms of overall quality, Harris and Singletary are pretty even. Singletary has better tackle shedding ability, change of direction and vision. Harris is both bigger and faster. It would seem that Harris is a better fit, but I do worry about the run game still because of a weak OL. Quote

We needed a power back to compliment cook and Hines and we signed one of the better power backs on the market that happened to be coming off his rookie contract, for under 2M. Stop making so much sense! Not sure how anyone can fault this move at all. Are people just bitter we didn't massively overpay for Henry? People hating this pick up must not want to help out josh Allen because Harris is elite in pass protection, I dont think many people understand just how important a reliable pass blocker is for the QB especially josh because he works through progessions. The bills passing game and running game improved for pennies with this signing and people will still complain. 2 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 11. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Article 6 or this Appendix, a UFA who signs a one-year NFL Player Contract that provides for a maximum of $1.75 million shall not be a CFA (an “Excluded UFA”); provided, however, the signing Club must notify the NFL Management Council upon execution of such Player Contract that the player is being designated as an Excluded UFA pursuant to Article 6 and Appendix V of the CBA, which designation cannot be modified or withdrawn by the Club. The abovestated maximum ($1.75 million) shall apply to the 2020 and 2021 League Years and thereafter shall increase by $20,000 on a bi-annual basis (e.g., the maximum during the 2022- 2023 League Years shall be $1.77 million). The one-year contract of an Excluded UFA cannot be renegotiated or extended until after the Club’s final game. 1 Quote
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 He's a different type of back. It will be interesting to see how he is used. New England throws A LOT of balls to their RB's in their system but Harris was not one of those backs. Singletary was a back that led the bills in both rushing attempts and targets from the RB position. Unless the Bills change their personnel groupings and philosophy on offense, expect Cook to take that role now. Harris will fit the Moss role. If that is the case, we are probably looking at something like 100 rushing attempts for Harris on the season and 450 yards. Hopefully 8+ TD's. 2 Quote

Beck Water Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) Harris’ contract numbers up. As reported, $1.77M - quite a change from his $7.7M reported "market value" on Spotrac. He got base salary just over vet minimum - $1.12M, with reportedly $400k of that guaranteed; signing bonus of $600k so total guarantee $1M of that $1.77M No publicized milestones or incentives. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/damien-harris-29123/ Edited March 25, 2023 by Beck Water Quote
