78thealltimegreat Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 With Von likely do back around late September that leaves an edge spot open on the roster anyone open to a stop gap like Clowney, Clark, or Ngakoue? 1 Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) I think it’s necessary. Whoever we sign will have to take near minimums I think, 1 year deals. Bills pulled one of their last cap relief levers with the $2M release of McKenzie. The Bills also need to add a 4th DT. $1.5M for Shaq Lawson $1.5M for Jordan Phillips Edited March 17, 2023 by Straight Hucklebuck Quote
NewEra Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Sure- or Calais Campbell, Justin Houston, Leonard Floyd, 1 Quote
Solomon Grundy Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 If only the Texans would release Jerry Hughes... 1 Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) Campbell can still play. Frank Clark / Shaq Lawson And then I do think we have a DT need. Beane is talking about adding a larger back, but I don’t think we need an older veteran, low draft pick would be my preference. Spotrac has Bills at $10M in cap space. MasterStrategist Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Yes. We've been linked to Yannick previously. He or Floyd would be nice gets. Possibly add a DT as well, extend Daquan and/or Ed. Quote
SCBills Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Not really interested in Phillips or Lawson. One can’t stay healthy and the other doesn’t provide enough juice given Von may miss time and AJ/Basham can’t really be depended upon to make a jump. If we don’t trade Oliver, just draft a a space eating DT in RD3 or RD4. We have nobody under contract for ‘24. As for EDGE.. unless we’re signing Wagner, I think spending on someone with legit pass rush ability has to be the move. 1 Quote

I’m just thinking about who will come cheaply. Beane sounded like he didn’t want to push much more into the future. But DT is going to need planning because nobody is under contract after 2024. Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Calais Campbell Can still play. We need some of these types up front. Been through the battles. Quote

Despite the money challenges, the Bills need to try and improve the talent level rather than defaulting back to who’s been here. 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 No, I'm up for one (or more) of Rousseau, Basham, Epenesa stepping it up. Most likely Rousseau. And, believe it or not, maybe even Epenesa (who played better and had more QB pressures than folks want to give him credit for, but still has a ways to go). Quote
Airseven Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Hard pass signing one of these guys. But yes, Bills do need another pass rusher opposite Rousseau. Miller returning by October is absolute best case scenario...but at what effectiveness? Unfortunately, and yet again, Beane will need to go DL by day 2 of the draft. Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I would rather draft a speed pass-rusher in the middle rounds of the draft. Pass rushers are expensive in the open market and we need that money to add another offensive lineman, safety, and slot receiver. Quote

Gunsgoodtime Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 It's just hard to believe we are even having this conversation with all the draft capital and FA money invested on the Dline Quote
