could he be implying the Bills will have 2 top WR’s?

That’s how I’m reading it.

McKenzie is already under contract,  No need to be part of restructures.

Quote

In 2023, McKenzie will earn a base salary of $1,750,000, a roster bonus of $367,647 and a workout bonus of $100,000, while carrying a cap hit of $2,517,647 and a dead cap value of $300,000.

That’s how I would take it. DHop or OBJ inbound.

I suppose he could be referring to Ramsey and Gilmore….but him “calling out” Big Baller Beane saying the world is waiting seems like he got wind of a big move incoming

This is increasingly nothing unfortunately. I don't believe McKenzie has a 6+ hour inside scoop on anything that was solidified, and remains that way now. He's kind of annoying on and off the field.

Agree, I believe it's time to cut ties also. Agree about Hines/Cook, however I'd add Shakir to that. He turned it up toward the last few games and believe he will continue improving and has the chance to be a strong impact WR

Definitely possible, but you don't save a lot of money. About $1.4M, but after you subtract the salary of the guy who replaces him on the roster, that's not much.

My guess is they bring him back to compete and worry about whether or not to cut him in August.

Seriously. He’s gotta get the axe.  Right?

I’d rather we give all of mckenzies reps to Hines/Cook

If McKenzie isn't released I will lose all faith in this organization.

Yeah it could play out that way also....I can certainly understand if it does. Either way regarding slot position in particular, I feel good about Shakir coming out on top of the competition and winning over the starting role.

If they part ways with McK or if they end up keeping him for depth/gadget plays here and there etc it's fine too

Cutting McKenzie saves 2.7M.

For perspective, Connor McGovern's YR1 cap hit is 3.6M. McKenzie's role is already filled by players on the team so that savings will towards a different position or towards signing a better WR.

Just can't see him coming back after they basically signed guys off the couch to replace him last year.

I am guessing if you keep guessing, it might turn out right.

My turn to guess. He knew about the Diggs restructure, and Diggs signed off on the WR they are bringing in (that they can co-exist) Whomever that may be.
