boyst Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I am surprised this is not a conversation already being had because it is an important decision. We have seen next to nothing on links and possibilities. Does anyone have any ideas? I would love to see Mitch cut and come back. 4 Quote

Why would you want Trubisky back? Did you see him play last season? He was awful Edited March 15, 2023 by nucci 2 1 1 1 Quote
ndirish1978 Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) It's likely Kyle Allen and he's not anything to get excited about. Edited March 14, 2023 by ndirish1978 1 Quote
K D Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Money Mitch once he gets cut. There's no way they keep him 2 Quote
uticaclub Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 We shouldn't pay anything more than the vet min. It's hard to imagine this team doing anything at all without Allen. Get another lineman or WR and a JAG backup. 1 Quote
JackKemp Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Going to get a backup QB in the draft. 3 1 1 1 Quote
DapperCam Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Backup QB in the middle-late rounds of the draft. A high floor, low ceiling type guy. You basically hope he can be a game manager and not turn the ball over if Allen goes down. 2 3 Quote
Yantha Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I'm looking at a few developmental late round QBs in this draft: Hendon Hooker, Tennessee (if he slips to later rounds) Clayton Tune, Houston Max Duggan, TCU 1 Quote
billieve420 Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) Someone cheap if Josh is out for any significant period of time we are not going anywhere anyway and might as well tank. No more than 2 yr deal for Vet QB if they decide to go FA route. Edited March 14, 2023 by billieve420 2 Quote
Big Turk Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Does it matter? If Allen goes down we are f**ked. Would almost be better to have no backup QB to get a high draft pick and get Allen back the next year. 3 1 2 Quote
Yantha Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I don't think any team should tank, ever. 2 2 1 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) WGR was speculating just keep Matt Barkley and then take a late round flyer on a QB…might be a spot for Stetson Bennett like in the 6th Edited March 14, 2023 by 78thealltimegreat 1 Quote

He has a high football IQ and a complimentary style to Josh. He can be developed into Josh's backup for the next few years. 2 2 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I saw a “trade for Davis Mills” post and that sounded like a good idea. He makes basically nothing. Send one of those 5ths over. Mills mafia!!! 1 1 Quote

I’d love this idea the kid isn’t an everyday nfl starter but man he did enough last year to show me he would be a terrific stop gap should we need a qb for a few weeks as he seems like he’s going to have a long career as a backup Edited March 14, 2023 by 78thealltimegreat 1 Quote
