Compensation seems light to me. I guess since they are staying in the top 10 it isnt so bad, but all they got extra was another 1st, a 2nd, an equivalent 4th (2 yr 2nd), and WR Moore. Surprised they couldnt milk more from Indy. Edited March 10, 2023 by DrDawkinstein 2 2 Quote
Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 The Bears got a ton of draft capital and DJ Moore instantly upgrades their receiving corps. Now they need to shore up the offensive line and continue to rebuild the defense after trading away Roquan Smith and cutting Trevathan. Quote
Success Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I have no idea how to gauge trade value. Would it have cost them much more to get Lamar Jackson? Quote

Chicken Boo Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 They gave up DJ Moore as well as 1st and 2nd round picks? Wow. Quote

I feel like teams usually have overpay to get into the top 5. I don’t think Moore would fetch a late first round pick, so it seems like the Panthers paid under value. With so many teams wanting a QB, I expected more competition Looking at the last trade of the #1 pick (2016) it would seem of similar value when including Moore into the compensation. But agreed, with the whole “league collusion” saga around Lamar, several teams looking to upgrade at QB or completely start fresh, a stronger haul could probably be had. Compliments to the Bears as they get a target for Fields that has proven himself to pair with Mooney, Kmet and Claypool. Gives them the flexibility to bolster their team than reach for positional need come April. Thank you for your effort and relay on his value per charting. 👍 Edited March 10, 2023 by BBFL 1 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Not a bad deal for either side to be honest. Knowing how Reich operates he’s going to want a structured qb so Im guessing CJ Stroud is going number 1. Young will to the Texans Richardson will go to the Colts or Seahawks and Levis is kinda the guy who falls into the middle of the first round deal 1 Quote
Norcalbillsfan Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Seems like a great haul for bears. Still top 10 pick this year, probably a top 10 next year and dj Moore instantly upgrades wr room. 1 Quote

zevo Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I think it gotta be Richardson with his upside…but what a swing it would be 1 Quote
Talley56 Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Ahh to be the #1 pick with a potential franchise QB. The Bears were on the wrong end of one of these back in 2017. Quote

boco357 Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I myself don't like moving that far down to 9 Carolina can definitely make playoffs in that divison. Quote

I don’t know how I feel about this class outside of CJ Stroud. There’s some really nice things I like about Bryce Young but he’s just so small that I worry about how his game translates. Anthony Richardson is a really nice project, but not someone I’d feel good about spending a ton of draft capital on. And Will Levis, God bless him, I just don’t feel it. 1 Quote

No, no you didn’t, this trade is further proof that ownership/GMs will give up huge resources for middling QB talent. I’m guessing that spending a lot of money is shows that they are “contenders” lol, this ranks right up there with the Browns stupidity…, Quote
