Pretty big indictment on Tremaine.

Beane talks constantly about drafting and retaining.  But they are going to let a 24 y/o first round pick team captain walk without giving him a second contract?

Edmunds is a good player but not a great player.  Beane was hoping and hoping but even he has realized this now.  Edmunds will get a big contract somewhere else.  Curious to see how Beane approaches free agency.  Will he try to sign released players in order to qualify for comp picks in next year's draft?  Edmunds and Poyer should get pretty good contracts.

We were expected to lose Milano too. I will wait until everything shakes out before I start worrying.

We were? This wasn't something I ever expected. Edmunds yes, Milano never crossed  my mind

They literally signed Milano minutes before the deadline. Nobody expected us to keep him.

I've been pretty big on keeping Edmunds - but I'd also be okay if we used that money elsewhere. They can probably get another effective LB for half the price; not as impactful as Edmunds, but we don't necessarily need that if we shore up other areas.

Half the price?....how bout a 3rd the price. Guys like Vander Esch or Al-Shaair would cost 7/8 per year. It's officially time to allocate more resources to the offense.

I like Edmunds and think he's been better than we often give him credit for. But he's exactly the type of player that the Patriots would have let walk during their golden years. I just don't love the idea of paying top LB money for a guy that just isn't quite consistent. Not saying we're the Patriots, but they did know what they were doing for a while.

Poyer, on the other hand, IDK... his age would make me nervous to give big money, but at the same time, he seemingly continues to get better.

Yes. As a matter of fact I remember the day, posting on the board as everyone was trying to figure out how we could pay him the expected $14-15M/yr, and everyone was pissed he was going to walk. And then the tweet hit that he signed at $11M. But most of us expected he was gone.

Tremaine and Poyer. I knew Poyer was gone but was hoping they'd get Edmunds back. And I'm surprised they haven't started restructuring any deals yet, Josh being the biggest one

Love it!

Those 2 not going to be the difference of winning a Super Bowl or not.

invest in offense.
