Just say no to 30 year old RBs

We saw what happens when you sign a 30 year old DE

8 sacks in 11 games, and had an injury that most likely had nothing to do with his age?

Until KC or some team we have to face every year in the playoffs dose, then it’s Buffalo never does anything to move the needle, while everyone else is playing chess we’re playing checkers. Those kinds of comments….  I would love to have Henry… teams would have to play us different and our Wr would get a lot more 1/1 looks. And it would be nice to pound the ball in those bad weather games. And before someone comments just draft a big running back, guys like king Henry don’t grow on trees, dude is a special talent… I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!!! Getting Henry would definitely help.

Henry is a beast and would instantly improve the offense. But mentioning chess vs checkers, adding a big money RB is one of the worst moves a franchise can make for a superbowl. A really great tweet got put out and it showed that the past 13 super bowl champions spent minimal to nothing at RB. Patriots and chiefs are 2 great teams that have spent pennies at RB for their championship runs.

I'm all about adding talent to the bills offense and Henry instantly adds talent but according to the past 13 years it's not where great franchises spend precious resources.

The Tennessee Titans are shopping Derrick Henry because he has a lot of wear on him this is like the Buffalo Bills shopping O.J. Simpson at the end of his career with a lot of wear on him to the San Francisco 49ers at least Ralph Wilson got that one right. But he should of traded O.J. Simpson a year earlier to the Los Angeles Rams the Bills would have gotten even more. Ralph Wilson was a fool as a owner when it came to player personnel decisions in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

OJ had a significant knee injury when he was traded to the Niners, essentially as good will to him. Henry while on the backside of his career does not have said injury. Not sure it’s the prudent move for the Bills right now. But two completely different situations health wise. OJ was basically done.

Robinson looking more and more likely to be around at 27.  If they pass on him I wouldn't have been so disappointed since they passed on Breece Hall, and before that Ben Roethlisberger

Not sure how Bills passed on Big Ben.  He was taken 2 picks ahead of Bills in 2004.  Bills tried to move up to Jax spot for him but Jax decided to stay put and take a WR who busted.

As for Breece Hall, yes the Bills passed on him but so did the Jets 2x in Rd 1 - they got him early in Rd 2

If the Bills could pull off the Oliver for Henry deal, and draft a Dawand Jones, or Steve Avila with their first pick (could probably trade back a bit), they arguably would be set on offense, and could use the draft to replace Oliver and Edmunds, and add secondary help.

If this actually happens it’ll be crazy to have Henry paired with Josh Allen. What a combo that would be.

Our line still sucks, yes? That is still the most pressing need.

If we aren’t planning to give him 15-20 touches a game..he would be wasted.

If we score 35 points a game it would not be  a waste.

Doesn’t suck at all. People need to look at OLs around the league.

They’re just not above average. But it’s an average OL. RT is the Achilles heel. Spencer Brown is an amazing athlete but he needs competition.

We run vs light boxes. Imagine a defense having to stop Josh Allen and Derrick Henry vs a light box? Yikes.

McGovern & Harrison (or avila, or Dawan Jones) would make the line a different beast.

More than that. It's well documented that he becomes more productive as the game wears on. He'd be wasted on this team.

Yup.  Offensive philosophy would have to be changed a bit.

Everyone would have to live with Josh NOT slinging it 35+ times per game.  Personally, I'd welcome it.

Adding a truly elite RB like Henry would give a whole new dynamic to this offense. If we want to win a super bowl I think it has to involve the game being less dependent on Allen, and a more balanced scheme that featured an incredibly strong running game with a QB like Allen could be what's needed to put us over the top. Said differently, put Allen on the Titans 3 years ago and I think they win the Super Bowl easily.

However, that all assumes we'd change the offense to utilize Henry, and this staff has given me no indication that they'll build scheme around talent. They're old school, "this is my scheme" guys, so to that end I think either Ekeler or Robinson would be the better fit if they wanted to target a #1.

This is not true, at least compared to last year. He was more of a dominate runner early in games. And you know what would help him out even more? Running against light boxes like he would here.
